Lucifer came to a satisfying end in September 2021 and fans have since been eager to see their favourite characters in other projects. Thankfully for viewers, Amenadiel star DB Woodside will be making a huge return to Netflix to star in the new and upcoming series, The Night Agent.

The Night Agent is an action-thriller which is set to follow Peter Sutherland (played by Gabriel Basso) an FBI agent who finds himself in the middle of a conspiracy.

The conspiracy involving a Russian mole had been developing for years, however, the mole was a figure at the highest level in the government.

The series will see Peter take matters into his own hands and do whatever it takes to ultimately save the nation.

From being low-ranking and working at the basement of the White House, that one phone call will thrust Peter past his superiors and right into the Oval office.

DB Woodside will portray Erik Monks, an FBI agent who is back at the Secret Service after a long hiatus.

Although the reason he went on leave is yet to be discovered, Monks will be prepared to do everything to regain the trust and respect of the institution.

Starring alongside Basso and Woodside is Hong-Chau, Fola- Evans Akinbola, Eve Harlow, Phoenix Raei, Enrique Murciano, Sarah Desjardins and Luciane Buchanan.

The Night Agent will also be the on-screen adaption of the New York Bestseller of the same name written by Matthew Quirk.

In Lucifer, Woodside played Amenadiel, an immortal archangel who was the eldest child of God and Goddess, as well as Lucifer Morningstar’s (Tom Ellis) eldest brother.

As one of the many angels in the series, Amenadiel was granted many powers and abilities to keep him protected in dangerous situations.

In season three, fans learned he could slow down time, which he often used to save lives, however, it would take a mental toll and drain him, so was only used as a last resort.

Alongside his immortality, superhuman strength and speed, the wings on his back meant he could travel great heights and through different dimensions.

Throughout the series, Lucifer had been preparing himself to become God, however, the finale revealed it wasn’t his calling, it was in fact Amenadiel’s.

Although he was hesitant to take on the role, he was enlightened and decided to rule from the earth instead of going back to reside in Heaven.

As Lucifer returned to Hell where he planned to help lost souls work out their issues.

Woodside’s latest character, couldn’t be any more different to Amenadiel

As The Night Agent will primarily focus on The White House, the majority of the characters will work in law enforcement.

Though, Chou will play Diane Farr, who according to Deadline will be the President’s powerhouse Chief of Staff and loyal defender.

While Evans-Akingbola will star as Monks’ boss Chelsea Arrington, the hardworking head of the Vice President’s daughter’s security detail, set to oversee the group of male agents.

While a release date for The Night Agent has yet to be announced, express.co.uk wil be updated.
