Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson broke a lucrative ad deal with McDonalds by forgetting he was being paid to go vegan – The Sun

IT’S fair to say the Made In Chelsea cast aren’t known for their willpower, what with all their excessive partying and cheating scandals.

Still, I’d have expected Sam Thompson to stick to Veganuary for more than 24 hours — especially when he is being paid to promote a range of products launched for the annual challenge.

Sam undermined a McDonald’s ad campaign by tucking into animal-derived products despite pledging to go vegan for the rest of the month.

In a paid Instagram post on Sunday with Towie pal Pete Wicks, Sam wrote: “So my mate has challenged me to try and do Veganuary . . . ”

He added that his “chances of success are on the up” thanks to McDonald’s first vegan meal.

But on Monday he posted a snap of himself eating French toast — made with eggs and milk. The snap is now gone from Instagram.

Girlfriend Zara McDermott then posted a pic of them with fried chicken and waffles. And on Tuesday, the pair shared snaps of them eating a cheese-topped pizza and cheesecake.

Sam blamed Zara for leading him astray, saying: “When I get home I’m definitely gonna give it a go, I promised (Pete) I would.”

A McDonald’s spokeswoman said: “Working with our chosen celebrities helped us demonstrate the mass appeal of this new product, with Pete being vegetarian and Sam not.”

Maybe next time Sam will make it past breakfast.
