Taylor Dunklin and Brandon Reid’s marriage went downhill quickly on Lifetime’s Married at First Sight Season 10. While 32-year-old Brandon seemed smitten with his 27-year-old wife Taylor at first, their honeymoon in Panama went sour when it became clear that Brandon struggled with the constant filming schedule.
Brandon gave Taylor the silent treatment for an entire day early on in the trip. Later, the beer sales representative turned on Lifetime producers and cursed them out before returning to Washington, D.C. The Married at First Sight groom even refused to move in with his wife at first when they got back to their city.
On the Feb. 19 episode of Married at First Sight, “Home Is Where Your Spouse Is,” Taylor and Brandon tentatively reconciled for the time being. But when Taylor told her friends what had happened with her new husband, they weren’t thrilled to hear that Brandon wasn’t as sweet as he seemed.
Taylor told her friends she was comfortable with Brandon at first
Taylor sat down with two of her friends at a restaurant to share all the details of her tumultuous marriage so far.
At first, the Married at First Sight star explained, she was actually happy with Brandon. She joked that, as she walked down the aisle, she was relieved by his looks. “When I stepped out, I was like, ‘Whew, lord, he’s not ugly,” she said.
Taylor also told her friends that Brandon was “respectful” of her space and didn’t get pushy with her, so she felt comfortable sleeping in the same bed with him even though they were strangers. “He was very respectful, so that made me more comfortable,” she said.
The ‘Married at First Sight’ star recounted Brandon’s silent treatment on their honeymoon
However, Taylor told her friends that things quickly took a turn for the worse as she began to see Brandon’s true colors on their honeymoon in Panama.
“Oneday we woke up in the morning, and he was snoring, right?” she explained. The Marriedat First Sight star thought it was funny, so she decided to “diary cam” himbefore he woke up. She flipped on the camera and started whispering.
Brandonapparently didn’t think it was so funny. “This man wakes up in the middle ofthe diary cam, JUMPS out of bed,” Taylor said, explaining that he then gave herthe silent treatment for an entire day of their first trip together.
“He literally says nothing to me…zero response,” She said. “He literally just ignored me all day.”
Brandon took offense at Taylor’s comments about Lifetime producers and his portrayal on the show
After they temporarily made up from their first fight, Taylor and Brandon enjoyed themselves on their honeymoon. But, as Taylor explained, Brandon felt hounded by the cameras and got easily agitated with the production crew. In a past episode, she said he was “abrasive and very rude” to Lifetime producers, which made her feel embarrassed and ashamed.
Onthe last day of their trip, Brandon got into it once again with the productioncrew when he didn’t want to film. In private, Taylor warned him that he might beportrayed negatively on Married at First Sight if he kept acting thisway. She told her friends that she advised her husband, “Honestly, you’regiving production the content they need to portray you as this crude, rude, disrespectful person.”
Brandonwas infuriated by Taylor’s comments and headed down to the bus to the airport alone, while Taylor packed for both of them. By the time Taylor got down to the bus, hecursed her out and refused to sit with her. He’d also had a confrontation withthe crew again. “Apparently he has told production they can go f*** themselves,”Taylor revealed as her friends listened in horror.
