MasterChef: John Torode distracts BBC viewers as they spot bizarre wardrobe blunder

Alex, Viktorija, David, Jane, Nathan, Joanna were the six amateur chefs put to the test in the MasterChef kitchen tonight. Gregg Wallace and John Torode were back on the BBC One cooking show to provide guidance and scrutiny and did not hold back with their judgments. However, it wasn’t the culinary creations of scathing critique which caught the eye of viewers but instead, it was John’s shirt.

John opted for a navy blue, chequered shirt for tonight’s episode of MasterChef.

A rather plain and innocuous outfit choice to some – until he paired it with a white t-shirt underneath.

Again, not necessarily the most outlandish wardrobe combination but BBC One viewers at home noticed John had left his top button undone.

With the t-shirt peeking through, dozens of fans couldn’t help but quip that the inadvertent blunder made him look like “a vicar”, with some fans branding him “Father John.”

One fan quipped on Twitter: “John Torode has been ordained into the pantheon of #MasterChef fashion victims tonight.”

A second weighed in: “Why has John come as a vicar [crying laughing emoji] #MasterChef.”

Another MasterChef fan tweeted: “#MasterChefUK #masterchef John Torode has dressed as Father Ted for world book day.”

While a fourth added: “Is it me or does John look like a vicar tonight with his white shirt under that collarless shirt? #MasterChef.”

The onslaught did not stop there as a fifth also noticed the feature: “Has John Torode been taking fashion tips from a vicar? #MasterChefUK #MasterChef.”

And a sixth contributed: “John Torode looks like he’s dressed to head up the church of Masterchef.”

On the show, neither John, Gregg nor any of the chefs addressed the unfortunate wardrobe mishap John had suffered.

It’s not the first time this week MasterChef fans have been taken aback this week.

MasterChef: John Torode and Gregg Wallace on show difficulties

Yesterday, Gregg and John were gobsmacked when a chef committed a “MasterChef first” and something neither had seen in 16 years of the show.

Contestant Sandy was hoping to impress with her desserts which were shaped like lotus flowers.

The dessert was billed as a Lemon Custard Puff Pastry Lotus with Cream, Gold Foil and Rose Petals served on Bamboo Leaves.

It was the addition of the Gold Foil which left the MasterChef duo flabbergasted.
