Call The Midwife returns to BBC One this Sunday and Nancy Corrigan (played by Megan Cusack) has a candid talk with some primary school students. The nurse has just started working as an official midwife and she has already made a huge difference to the community. Here’s all you need to know about the actress and her long line of actor relatives.
Who is in Megan Cusack’s family?
Megan Cusack was born in Cork in May 1996, making her 25 years old, and she made her professional theatrical debut in 2019.
In September 2021, she was nominated for Favourite Newcomer in the TV Times Awards 2021 for her role as Nancy.
Having won over the hearts of many Call The Midwife viewers, she also came seventh in the top 10 Period Drama Actresses in 2021.
Her father, Pádraig Cusack, is a theatre producer and she told him she wanted to be an actress when she was just nine.
Megan is the granddaughter of actors Cyril and Maureen Cusack.
Cyril was a famous actor born in South Africa and brought up in Ireland.
His first stage performance was when he was just seven years old and he went on to tour with his own theatre company.
He is known for his roles in The Golden Bowl, Jackanory, Strumpet City and Clochemerle.
The star died in October 1993, aged 82, and he featured in an episode of the series The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles that same year.
Maureen Cusack was born in 1920 in Ireland and she was an actress known for her roles in Odd Man Out, The Rising of the Moon and Von Richthofen and Brown.
She was married to Cyril, and she died in December 1977, aged 57.
Megan has many famous aunties, including actresses Sinéad, Sorcha, Niamh and Catherine.
Sinéad is an actress who has previously starred in V for Vendetta, Eastern Promises and Stealing Beauty.
The star is married to actor Jeremy Irons and she has three children.
Sorcha is known for her roles in Father Brown, Jane Eyre and Snatch.

His credits include Condor, The White Queen and The Runaway.
Megan’s cousin Calam Lynch, Niamh and Finbar’s son, is about to feature in the second series of Netflix’s Bridgerton.
He will play the role of Theo Sharpe in the series and also starred as Gordon Wilson in the series Mrs Wilson.
Megan opened up about her role as Nancy Corrigan and how her famous family offered her advice.
Speaking to Whattowatch.com she said: “My family have been vital at times. They’ve all said it’s a tough industry and a tough career, so you’ve got to really want it and, in regards to performing, they’ve always told me to just try and enjoy it because, the more you’re having fun, the more other people will enjoy what you’re doing.
“My grandma is a big fan of Call the Midwife, so she’s delighted I’m in it. She was a midwife herself, so she’s given me tips.”
Call The Midwife returns to BBC One on Sunday at 8pm.
