NCIS: LA is back on CBS and the premiere episode, titled Subject 17, paid tribute to a valued member of the team. Ahead of the episode, the series featured a title card for Michele Poulik and fans are wondering what role she played. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about who the star was and what happened.
Who is Michele Poulik?
NCIS: Los Angeles stars paid tribute to Michele Poulik with a heartfelt message ahead of the first season 13 episode.
The title card said: “[Michele’s] smile, presence, and laughter, lit up every day.”
She was a set decorator for the series and died after a long cancer battle in August 2021.
Poulik started her role on the NCIS spin-off in 2009 and she worked on the set right up until she died on August 2.
She had worked on more than 200 episodes of the long-running Naval Criminal Investigation Service drama.
Her job was to make sure the film sets looked as realistic as possible, creating an immersive experience for fans.
She died shortly after the season 12 finale, and NCIS cast and crew took the season 13 premiere as the perfect opportunity to pay tribute.
Poulik had also worked on series such as The Cleaner, Eli Stone, Standoff and The Comeback.
Her other credits include Emily’s Reasons Why Not, Lincoln Heights, The Sheild, Huff, and From the Earth to the Moon.
The star’s IMDb credits date back to the late 80s, and she has worked as an art director, costume designer and production designer.
Her vast array of skills means she was undoubtedly one of the best in the business.
She even tried her hand at acting in 1985, starring in Stryker’s War.
She also worked in the props department as part of the same project.
NCIS fans took to Twitter to pay tribute to the star, with Lori saying: “Sorry for the loss of Michele Poulik.”
The set decorator, who was born in Toronto, is survived by her sister Janet.
NCIS: LA was her latest project, and she is credited on a total of 267 episodes.
The last episode she ever worked on was A Tale of Two Igors, which was the 18th episode of season 12.
This memorable episode saw the return of fan-favourite, Hetty Lange (played by Linda Hunt).
Poulik also worked on a number of TV movies including Roadracers, Dragstrip Girl and The Inheritance.
