Strictly Come Dancing star Molly Rainford and partner Carlos Gu performed the Foxtrot to ‘You Make Me Happy’ by My Sun and Stars and scored an impressive 35 out of a possible 40. However, despite the high score, the couple ended up in the dreaded dance-off alongside Ellie Simmonds and Nikkita Kuzmin. Discussing how she felt and the struggles that she deals with in rehearsals, Carlos gave her a stern warning when overthinking her mistakes.
Joining Rylan Clark on Strictly: It Takes Two, he asked Carlos: “Molly has self admittedly said she is her biggest critic.
“So how hard is she on herself when it comes down to rehearsals?”
Carlos explained: “She literally doesn’t let anything go, she will always be like ‘No I’m sorry’. She wants to be perfect but actually, you can’t be perfect every time you dance.
“We need some mistakes at least, you can’t be perfect but she literally wants to be perfect, so she is being so hard on herself. But she is doing a good job.”

Touching on being in the dance-off for the second time in the series, Molly explained: “It was difficult, I think we had such a nice time.
“I really felt that I was back, I wasn’t nervous, I wasn’t scared anymore, the week before I was quite scared after the dance-off.
“But I loved it, so it was tough and I did get a bit emotional But I think it was just the overwhelming feeling of ‘No this can’t be the last dance’.
“I had been there before.” Carlos added: “She loves dancing and she loves Strictly and she literally gives 1000 per cent.
“I see how much she wants it and that’s why I felt her be emotional, but I have just told her we just do that again.
“It is another chance for us to do a beautiful dance again.”
Making her feel better about her performance and the way she dances, Rylan revealed: “There have been other couples in your position before week eight.
“They are Aljaz and Abbie, they did really well, and the other ones were Ore and our very own Joanne, and guess what happened to them two?”
Molly shyly replied: “They won.”
Speaking to Claudia Winkleman on Saturday night after their performance, Molly exclaimed: “It means so much! Especially coming out of a week where I was really nervous.
“I really like being back to smiley Molly and I just wanted to show that you know, as much as I am bringing that I am bringing more technique.”
Touching on getting higher than a six from Craig, she continued: “I was blown away by his comments, to see two six’s in a row, I just want him to know I am trying harder every week.
“I am my worst critique, but you have to be if you want to get better, you have to know when you have done it good and know when you have done it bad.”
Unfortunately for Ellie Simmonds, her Strictly journey came to the end on Sunday night, when she explained: “I’ve literally had the time of my life. It’s been the most incredible experience – life-changing really.
“I want to thank Nikita ever so much. I’m going to miss him – he’s changed my life and confidence.
“The confidence you’ve given me – I seem confident but you know what I’m like, I worry about everything so much and we’ve literally represented everything.
“We went out there and danced our life out every single night and I loved it so much.”
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday from 6:30pm on BBC One, followed by the results show on Sunday.
