Money Heist season 5: Is Berlin alive after all? Star teases character is in the ‘present’

Money Heist: Fans believe Tatiana is key in series five events

Ever since his death in season two of Money Heist, viewers have been wondering whether Berlin (played by Pedro Alonso) could have somehow survived. Now the actor has teased this once again in an Instagram post, which has left viewers curious about what’s next for the beloved character.

La Casa de Papel fans have been waiting for months for the news about the final season of the show.

Ever since it was confirmed in July 2020, viewers have been anxiously waiting for news about what will happen next.

One character fans are always pleased to see return is Berlin, who has become a staple of flashbacks in the past two outings.

This comes after he was seemingly shot and killed in the season two final episodes.

However, there have always been theories from fans about how the character could still be alive.

Actor Pedro Alonso has also played a part in fuelling these with fans recently uncovering a huge clue on his Instagram account.

Back on August 12, 2020, he posted an image and new actor, Patrick Criado, from season five.

The shot sees them collaborating as Berlin is seemingly explaining something to the young man.

However, what left viewers most excited was the caption of the image written by Alonso.

This read: “Monty and Python, obvious. Not the past, not the future. @Patrick.Criado the present #LCDP5.”

This seemingly implied this scene was taking place in the present time frame, rather than the past which Berlin has only appeared in since season two.

If this were to be true then this would imply the character is somehow alive after all.

Posting below the picture, users waded in about their own theories of what the image could mean.

While fan Leon1pop added: “What does that mean ‘present’?”

A third named Nalshaabboot wrote: “Me believing he’s going to come back to life.”

Of course, Alonso’s caption remains very cryptic and it could be about something completely different after all.

Sadly, it seems like the truth will only be revealed when the show is released on Netflix.

No date has been given for this yet but has been confirmed it will land in 2021.

As well as this, show creator Álex Pina also teased what will happen next.

Speaking to Netflix, he said: “We have spent almost a year thinking about how to destroy the band.

“How to put the Professor on the ropes. How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters.

“The result is the fifth season of La Casa de Papel. The war reaches its most extreme and savage levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season”.”

Money Heist seasons 1-4 are on Netflix now.
