New year, new TV. TLC is ringing in 2020 with new episodes of some of your favorite shows. During the first week of January, the network will debut new seasons of Dr. Pimple Popper, My 600-Lb Life, and Sister Wives. Plus, some brand-new shows are in the works, including one that promises to do for podiatry what Dr. Pimple Popper did for dermatology.
‘Dr. Pimple Popper,’ ‘My 600-Lb Life,’ ‘Sister Wives,’ and ‘I Am Jazz’ return
TLC is kicking off 2020 with a new season of My 600-Lb Life. Season 8 of the extreme weight-loss show will follow Dr. Nowzaradan as he works with patients who are making the emotional and physical journey to weight-loss surgery. It premieres Wednesday, January 1 at 8/7c.
On January 2 at 9/8c, Dr. Pimple Popper returns with an all-new episode. This season, Dr. Sandra Lee will treat patients with conditions that could be life-threatening and a woman who has had to endure years of bullying because of the bumps on her face.
In the new season of Sister Wives, the Browns have made their big move to Flagstaff, but there’s still tension in this polygamist family. Financial stress leads Kody to suggest building one big house for all his wives, but they’re not exactly on board with the plan. Meanwhile, Kody and Meri’s relationship is still rocky, which sends them to therapy. But the family also has reasons to celebrate, including an engagement and a new baby. Premieres Sunday, January 5 at 10/9c.
Whitney Thorne is also back for another season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life. This season, she has a new life and a new business in Charlotte. She’ll also continue to pursue her fitness goals and meet new challenges. Premieres Tuesday, January 7 at 8/7c.
Finally, TLC continues the story of Jazz Jennings. In the new season of I Am Jazz, Jazz is navigating her senior year of high school and trying to decide which college is right for her. Premieres Tuesday, January 28 at 9/8c.
New shows: ‘My Feet Are Killing Me,’ ‘1,000-Lb Sisters’
In addition to old favorites, TLC has several new shows in the works.
My Feet Are Killing Me follows Dr. Ebonie Vincent and Dr. Brad Schaeffer, two podiatrists who “have never met a foot too funky to fix,” according to the network. Each hour-long episode will feature three patients with unusual foot conditions that they’re desperate to fix, from a paranormal romance novelist with a sixth toe to a former pro dancer whose bunions are so big she can hardly walk. Premieres Thursday, January 2 at 10/9c.
Amy and Tammy Slaton are the stars of 1,000-Lb Sisters. This new series will follow these Kentucky siblings who weigh more than 1,000 pounds combined as they work to lose enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery. The first of six episodes airs Wednesday, January 1 at 10/9c after the premiere of My 600-Lb Life.
Finally, TLC has a new spinoff of Say Yes to the Dress called Say Yes to the Dress America. In this show, one bride from every state (plus Puerto Rico and Washington D.C.) travels to New York City to choose a dress at the legendary Kleinfeld Bridal and then say “I Do” during an epic group wedding in Central Park. The 10-episode series will focus on 10 of the lucky brides. Premieres Saturday, January 4 at 8/7c.
