Naga Munchetty was left stunned when she learned of the real reason why her colleague was not making tea.
The BBC Breakfast host asked weather reporter Nick Miller during the morning programme today (December 4) if he has had coffee or tea at work.
The presenter starts by asking: "Nick, has anyone brought you a cup of tea this morning? Or have you been able to grab yourself a cup of tea this morning? Or coffee?"
"Well I do neither," Nick replies and pauses, then saying: "You want the real reason?"
Naga quickly answers: "Yes of course, always the truth."
Nick then explains: "Well, it just seems to take so much effort to make all the teas for everybody because you can't just make it yourself. You have to make it for everybody else.
"I just decided not to drink so that I don't have to reciprocate."
Naga takes a jab and asks Nick: "Do you not feed your family? Do you not cook at home either?"
The weatherman smiles and clarifies that he cooks but does not make any tea or coffee at home.
"You don't drink tea because you don't want to make anybody else a cup of tea?" Naga gasps. "Oh Nich, I don't know if the truth is the best policy in that case.
"I don't know, but it showed me a new side of you."
Nick seems to realise his confession has brought shock to the studio and says he should not have said the truth when asked.
"I knew I shouldn't have given it to you, but I have done it now. The cat is out of the bag. Selfish Miller, yes," he jokes.
Yesterday, Naga made a cheeky jibe by questioning another weather reporter Carol Kirkwood the role of her job before she hit back with a joke.
