If you’re a big TV fan, then you know on-screen couples (or almost couples) usually get a nickname that combines their names. It’s a cute way to celebrate their relationship. Here are some of the hilarious names the NCIS cast has for Torres and Bishop.
Ellick
One cute name the cast thought of is “Ellick.” This is acombination of Ellie and Nick. “I feel really good to be a part of Ellick,”joked Emily Wickersham in a special interview with CBS. Some of the castmembers didn’t seem to like this name. Read on to see what Brian Dietzenthought of Ellick.
Bishick
Dietzen, wasn’t sold on the name Ellick. “Ellick. That isterrible,” he said in his CBS Interview. “I think Bishick is better. Ellick tome sounds like a tertiary character from Bravehart,” he joked. We’re notso sure this unusual combination of Bishop and Nick will catch on with NCISfans.
Borres
During an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” host KevinFrazier, the cast said they like the nickname “Borres.” Rocky Carroll, on theother hand, didn’t think that name would work. “It sounds like one of the internationalcriminals from one of our episodes,” he joked. Wickersham chimed in, sayingthat’s why the name is perfect for Torres and Bishop.
Elmer
Another unusual couple name that popped up during the cast’sdiscussion with Frazier was “Elmer,” courtesy of Dietzen. This nicknameprobably wouldn’t work because it’s a combination of a fictional character andone of the NCIS actors (Ellie Bishop and Wilmer Valderrama). The namealso sounds like the glue company so we don’t think this name would take off.
Tishop
In addition to Elmer, Dietzen recommended “Tishop.” Thissounds a little too much like “tissue” to us. We don’t know about that one. We’llgive Dietzen two points for creativity. Who knows? The name might actuallycatch on. Maybe you’ll start seeing fan pages, T-Shirts, and mugs with thetitle “Tishop Forever.”
Maria Bello said she enjoys watching a real love story
Some fans are tiredof the “will they or won’t they” scenario and just want Bishop and Torres toget together already. However, Maria Bello says it’s nice to watch arelationship that has been built on a strong foundation slowly unfold. She told“Entertainment Tonight” host Kevin Frazier she enjoys seeing TV relationshipsthat aren’t just based on sex:
It’s really fun to watch an actual love story. Not just something that’s crash and burn. They can do that a lot in TV, like, ‘Oh my God, and we hook up, and it’s about sex,’ as opposed to these people have grown to love each other and care about each other and be vulnerable and intimate. And then if that thing comes out of it, fantastic. And if it doesn’t, fantastic, too.
