Netflix's Clickbait viewers all have the same complaint about dark new murder mystery

WARNING: Contains spoilers from the ending of Clickbait

Starring Entourage’s Adrian Grenier as the lead role of Nick Brewer, Clickbait tells the story of loving father, husband and brother Nick whose life dramatically changes when he is abducted.

A video soon appears online showing a badly beaten Nick holding a card that reads: "I abuse women. At five million views, I die."

His wife Sophie (Betty Gabriel) and sister Pia (Zoe Kazan) franticly begin desperately try to find and save him, but they soon discover things about Nick that they never knew.

But some fans of the show were not happy when they discovered Nick's real killer and how things ended and promptly took to Twitter to air their grievances.

One viewer wrote: "I was so sure that #clickbaitnetflix was going to end predictably the entire time so jokes on me. That reveal was hella depressing tho lol."

Another penned: "Ugh why do I do this to myself? Like I binge-watched that entire show and now I’m emotional af and can’t fall asleep because of the traumatic ending."

A third person went a step further as they tweeted: "Clickbait Review: Do Not Watch This Deeply Unpleasant Netflix Thriller."

Others were blown away by the show though, with one fan commenting: "Wait #Clickbait is actually really good!! I’m at the end of ep. 6 and my jaw is on the floor #clickbaitnetflix."

For those wondering, eventually, Nick's lifeless body is discovered in a river by investigator Roshan Amir (Phoenix Raei).

After much searching from detectives and Nick's family, it was his son Kai (Jaylin Fletcher) who discovered the real killer's identity.

It turns out that Dawn Gleed (Becca Lish), a colleague of Nick had created fake profiles on various dating sites using his photos and struck up relationships with various women.

Viewers learn that Dawn was a very lonely woman, despite being married to husband Ed (Wally Dunn).

After Ed discovers his missus has been catfishing online, it's fair to say he's not impressed and she quickly shuts down the profile – which prompts one woman 'Nick' was talking to, Emma, to take her own life.

Kai then heads over to Dawn's home to confront her and is held hostage by the couple before police eventually turn up and shoot Ed.

Through a series of flashbacks, viewers also discover that Nick himself had found out about Dawn's catfishing shenanigans and had turned up at her house to confront her.

The loving father was immediately bludgeoned to death with a hammer by Ed.

Clickbait is available to watch on Netflix now.
