John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) may live to regret the day he lied to Olivia Bradshaw (Emily Burnett) about the minibus crash in Hollyoaks, as he starts to suspect that she is his mystery blackmailer.
The deputy head teacher, as viewers know, was designated driver during a school trip last month which ended in tragedy.
Olivia was injured in the crash, as was student Freya (Ellie Henry), who was left with life-changing injuries.
John Paul has felt guilty about what transpired, but his attention has been elsewhere as of late, as he discovered he was being blackmailed by a mystery resident, who claimed to know what he did.
The resident, of course, was revealed to be none other than Olivia, who has gone out of her way to try and scare John Paul into resigning so that she can swoop in and take his position.
John Paul, however, has refused to be bullied by his anonymous tormentor, having no idea Olivia is behind the scheme.
But later this week, things take quite the turn, as the deputy head faces the music after crashing Freya’s fundraiser while drunk, and a confrontation forces him to admit just how severe his drinking addiction has become.
Left with little choice, he ultimately confides in Sally St Claire (Annie Wallace), who is forced to make an incredibly difficult decision.
Olivia, meanwhile, is hit with a shocking discovery of her own, and dreams shatter for her in the process.
The loss of her dreams, however, could prove to be the least of her worries, as subsequent scenes will see her on edge, after receiving an interesting voicemail from John Paul.
She is therefore forced to cover her tracks! After doing so, she thinks she’s got away with everything, as John Paul is too hungover to remember his discovery.
That is, until something that Prince (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) says jogs his memory!
Afterwards, he exposes what he knows to Sally. The question is: will Sally believe his accusation?
Or is Olivia set to get away with what she’s done?
One to watch: Tuesday April 26 at 7pm on E4.
