Kate Phillips, who plays Linda Shelby in Peaky Blinders is no stranger to starring in a historical drama.
Alongside playing Linda, Phillips starred as Lise Bolkonskaya in the BBC series War and Peace and Jane Seymour in Wolf Hall opposite Claire Foy.
Phillips most recently played Princess Mary in the 2019 Downtown Abbey film.
In 2016, Phillips appeared in three episodes of the first season of The Crown on Netflix.

Phillips played the role of Venetia Scott, Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s (John Lithgow) secretary.
In the series, fictional character Scott was hired by Churchill in 1951 after he took a liking to her as a result of her admiration for him.
Sadly, Phillips appearance in The Crown was not for long as her character was killed in the fourth episode.
During the Great Smog of London in December 1952 which killed 4,000 people, Scott was hit by a bus, whose driver’s vision of the road was obscured by the fog.
Sadly, Scott died from her injuries which led Churchill to tackle the smog after days of inaction.
Churchill made an impassioned speech, encouraging Londoners to remain hopeful and took steps to prevent the smog from ever returning. On December 9, the fog over London cleared.

In Peaky Blinders season five, Linda Shelby abandoned her husband Arthur Shelby.
Midway through the fifth series, Linda appeared at Tommy’s (Cillian Murphy) house to kill Arthur, who had brutally attacked Linda’s Quaker friend.
In a shocking twist, Polly Gray (Helen McCrory), came to her nephew’s defence and shot Linda.
Linda did not die from her injuries and after receiving treatment at the hands of the Shelby family, she fled Birmingham, leaving her gangster past behind.

Show creator Steven Knight has brought memorable characters back for future seasons after fans believed they had left the show, so Linda’s return is possible.
For example, Tom Hardy’s Alfie Solomons returned at the end of season five despite audiences believing him to be dead and in season four Charlotte Riley’s reprised he role as May Fitz Carelton.
Phillips spoke to Digital Spy about returning to Peaky Blinders in the future.
She said: “Who knows? I can only hope so. I definitely felt like there’s a lot of unfinished business there.
“They share a child together, there’s definitely no chance Arthur would let Linda get away with Billy, so they’re tied together, with the family connection, and obviously family is a big connection in Peaky Blinders.”

She added: “I’d like to think she’s going to be around and maybe there might be some reconciliation to have, but also you know her fury is pretty palpable by the end of episode five.
“But also like it does beg the question – how do you come back from trying to kill your husband?“
Phillips also opened up about how she would want her character to return.
She said: “What I’d love to be able to play if I was being asked, is Linda and Tommy.
“There was a scene that I got to shoot in episode four. But seeing Linda kind of handle him is really exciting, and I’d like to have a little showdown with him if that was possible.“
