Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) is becoming another thorn in Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce) side in Coronation Street.
Essentially, the taxi driver has now become Stephen’s new enemy as he couldn’t see what he gained by telling Lou that he stole Rufus Donohue’s watch a few weeks ago.
We know that Stephen did this because Lou caught him seconds after he had stolen his tie pin, which was found by Rufus’ dead body.
Stephen broke into Lou’s hotel room, grabbed the tie pin and left, but Lou returned minutes later and wondered what he was up to.

The businessman covered by telling Lou that Peter had stolen Rufus’ watch, knowing that if he revealed the truth, it would increase the chance of people discovering that Rufus is only dead because of him.
Once Peter found out that Stephen had thrown him and Carla (Alison King) under the bus, he told his partner that Stephen definitely had a hidden agenda.
Carla practically agreed with Peter, but said she couldn’t do anything about it as she needs him working at the factory until she’s back in a position to take over again.
Wednesday’s (August 16) episode of the ITV soap featured more tense scenes between Peter and Stephen.
In the cafe, Peter chatted to Stephen and argued that his past actions make him look like a bit of a psychopath.
Stephen – who is most certainly the definition of a psychopath – argued that he wasn’t, but he was stood right next to a flyer in the cafe that ended up grabbing our attention more than what he was actually saying.
The murderer was next to a flyer that said how drinking and driving will only end up shattering lives, which left us suspicious.
We know that Chris Gascoyne will leave his role as Peter Barlow soon and as he gets closer to the truth about Stephen, we’re left wondering if he’s going to play a massive part in the killer’s downfall.
Could Peter relapse and start drinking again, get behind the wheel and end up hitting and killing Stephen?
Leaving him with no choice but to go on the run?
