PIERS Morgan has revealed his Good Morning Britain contract ends on December 31 and will debate his future on the show.
The 54-year-old presenter often divides viewers of the ITV morning show with his outspoken nature and views.
Last week he declared he identified as a penguin in a rant about gender, leading to a petition being started to get him fired from the show.
While Piers has laughed it off, he revealed on Twitter his Good Morning Britain contract actually comes to an end on the final day of 2019.
When asked if he would get paid for the rest the term of his contract like a footballer if he was sacked, he wrote: "Yes, but my contract runs out on Dec31 anyway.."
A petition to keep him on the show was started to counteract the first one, and Piers spent the day updating his followers on how many signatures it had.
He then tweeted he would be discussing his future on Good Morning Britain on Monday's show.
He wrote: "UPDATE: On tomorrow's @GMB, we will be debating whether I should be fired."
Piers, who has come down with a bout of man flu, won't let his illness get in the way of the discussion.
He said: "Day 4 of severe man-flu. But don’t worry, I’ll be manning up at my @GMB work station from 6am tomorrow."
Piers previously hit back at petition to remove him from his role on Good Morning Britain following his on-air rant about gender last month.
The outspoken star doubled down on his original gag after a Twitter user called his view "dangerous and dehumanising" in a post promoting the Change.org petition.
Responding to the tweet, Piers wrote: "You can't remove me, I'm currently identifying as a penguin so it would be animal cruelty."
He went on to insist he's an avid supporter of trans rights, but feels a BBC film claiming there are more than 100 genders is doing more harm than good.
Replying to a supportive fan, he said: "Thank you. I've always been a loud & proud supporter of people who transition, but feel this 100-gender nonsense makes an absolute mockery of what they go through."
