Power Book III: Raising Kanan will be the second spin-off show to start on network Starz. The series will be the only prequel of the spin-off shows, focusing on Kanan Stark (played by Mekai Curtis) growing up in 1990s New York. The latest official trailer has come out, giving fans even more of a taste of what’s to come.
There is less than a month to go until Power Book III premieres on Starz.
Since the end of last year, the network has been teasing the spin-off with trailers and yet another has been released.
This time, another character was briefly introduced to fans as he is seen having an intense conversation with Raq Stark (Patina Miller), Kanan’s mum.
There is an indication that this may be the infamous Breeze who mentored Kanan, James “Ghost” St Patrick (Chris Sumpter) and Tommy Egan (Ethan Cutkowsky).
The trailer is set to LL Cool J’s Mama Said Knock You Out when the music cuts out as a clip is shown of a man walking through a park with Kanan’s mum.
A close-up of his face then teases his importance in the series as he says: “You can’t afford the war right now Raq.”
She then replies: “I ain’t getting on my knees Nick. Not for you or no man.”
Breeze’s real name was never mentioned in the drama so could it be that he is the mysterious Nick?
Going by the trailer, he is clearly trouble as Raq is later seen angrily handing him a small brown envelope, presumably containing money.
There is then another close-up of Nick looking like he is up to no good but it isn’t yet clear what he is up to.
From this and the other teasers, Kanan is seen asking his mum to get him involved in the drug business which she refuses to do.
So if she wasn’t going to help him, then maybe it will be Nick, who could be Breeze, that shows him the ropes.

Breeze post-humously played a major role in the original Power drama and was frequently mentioned by Kanan, Ghost and Tommy.
In the end though, Ghost said he needed to prove himself and take over Breeze’s business.
To do so, the youngster shot Breeze in the back of the head while he was watching TV.
This was the same way Kanan was ready to kill Tariq St Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr) before changing his mind.
Starz has kept pretty tight-lipped about who has been cast as Breeze so far.
There is not even a mention of Breeze on the show’s IMDB profile but it is known he will be in the series.
The fact Nick is also not featured in the casting list does hint at the possibility of them being the same person.
Thankfully, there is just a few more weeks until fans will find out.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan premieres on Sunday, July 18, on Starz.
