Queen of techno Nicole Moudaber will be teaching at Pete Tong's DJ Academy

NICOLE MOUDABER is the queen of techno.

An industry heavyweight she is one of electronic music’s most iconic artists.

With her MOOD radio show and record label continuing to go from strength to strength she has also curated MoodZONE festival stages at the world’s biggest events.

Alongside Carl Cox and Jamie Jones, Nicole has joined Pete Tong’s DJ Academy as a partner and mentor to students dreaming of following in their footsteps.

Pete Tong announced his Pete Tong DJ Academy during IMS a few weeks ago. The brand-new project for 2022 is in association with the Rome based MAT Academy, a leader in

online tuition programmes. A totally online e-learning platform designed to guide aspiring DJs through the broad spectrum of skills required to become a great DJ, co-founded with Carl Cox.

You’ll be able to experience one on one on-demand video tutorials not only by Pete, but a handpicked selection of some of the most exciting DJs on the planet. Joining the team as partners and mentors are Carl Cox, Jamie Jones and Nicole Moudaber.

We caught up with Nicole this week to talk music and she has curated a formidable selection of music for us featuring mostly her own tracks, remixes and collaborations alongside other great  music from the likes of Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim,  David Guetta and Morten. Scroll on to listen to her selection and read what she had to say about the music.

Nicole Moudaber feat Skin – Someone Like You – MOOD Records
My collaboration with Skin from the legendary British rock band Skunk Anansie was part of the Breed EP on my label MOOD. We filmed the video in Berlin, the whole process for me was an eye opener as merging rock and techno was quite unique.

Depeche Mode – Cover Me (Nicole Moudaber Remix)
An honour to remix one my favourite bands ever. Dark techno at its finest. Close your eyes and fly on this one it’s a journey.

Jamie Jones & Nicole Moudaber -Pepper Shake – Hot Creations
This collab was the fruit of the Covid era, you gotta spice up your life behind closed doors. The B-side is called Bubble Ride, a great tool for late night clubbing.

Alcatraz – Give Me Luv (Nicole Moudaber Remix) – Yoshitoshi
Award winning remix I did a few years ago, this classic will never die. Four consecutive months at no.1 in the dance charts across the board of every genre.

David Guetta & Morten feat. Roland Clark. – Alive Again
Never thought in a million years I would play a David Guetta record, simply because I don't play pop music.  Roland Clark on the vocals, I’ve been opening my sets with this one recently, co-produced alongside Morten, it’s classy.

Carl Cox & Fatboy Slim _ Speed Trials On Acid
A hypnotic techno banger featuring Detroit artist Dan Diamond as he narrates “Get back to the beat, back to the kick drum, back to the bass and back to the music” 'Nuff said.

Moby – Mere Anarchy (Nicole Moudaber Remix) – MOOD
Deep, hypnotic and trippy. Working with Moby was unreal, check out the flip side called “Like A Motherless Child” from the Adoption EP on my label.

Nicole Moudaber & Skin -These Walls Are Made Of Water – MOOD
One of my favourite tracks from the Breed EP with Skin from Skunk Anansie. Her voice is just divine, you want to have this one on a loop forever.

Nicole Moudaber & Carl Cox _ See You Next Tuesday (Danny Tenaglia’s Return To Twilo Mix) – MOOD
My first collaboration with Carl Cox gets a rework from the legendary Danny Tenaglia from New York. A double whammy right there for your aural pleasure.

Nicole Moudaber – Can I Get Some – Drumcode
A cheeky sample from Mary J Blige, this one calls for some bedroom trampoline. Sexy AF.
