Lorraine: Ranvir says ‘Harry is out in the cold’ but not Prince Andrew
ITV’s Ranvir Singh has alluded to a double standard in the Royal family after Prince Andrew was extended an invitation to stay in Balmoral by his brother King Charles.
Standing in for Lorraine Kelly on her eponymous morning show, Ranvir questioned the wisdom of the move while speaking to journalist Russell Myers, pointing out that Prince Harry is “out in the cold”.
“You don’t even have to be a Harry and Meghan fan,” she said, “but I just don’t know how they [the Royal family] think this is going to play out.
“Harry’s out in the cold! Yes, he’s muckraked over the family, but what Andrew [has done]…
“I mean I know he hasn’t been formally charged and nothing ever came of it, but he did pay £12 million to somebody for something that he may or may not have done,” she told viewers.

However, her remarks led to an accusation that she wasn’t impartial about the subject matter.
A viewer called @MotorsportMgr took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment: “@lorraine Ranvir not showing impartiality in discussion about Prince Andrew. Surely family matters. If Harry chose to visit as well no issues.” (sic)
A user with the handle @Topcat_legend chimed into the debate saying: “Andrew is part of the family, despite what he’s done, Harry does not want to be. Can’t see any difficult questions that need to be asked here. #Lorraine.”
@angellilix didn’t agree, pointing out: “The royals have shown support to Prince Andrew publicly & privately (as reported in numerous publications). They never did that for Prince Harry, Meghan & their children. All Prince Harry ever wanted, was support from his family. It never happened. Their silence speaks volumes.”
Ranvir’s remarks came on the back of reports that the Duke of York has joined his family on a break in the Scottish retreat almost a year after the death of the Queen.

However, he is not staying inside the £80million Balmoral castle.
Instead, he and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson are residing in a seven-bedroom home on the estate called Craigowan Lodge on the Balmoral Estate.
The former couple are expected to be joined by their daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and their families. The arrival of the Duke and Duchess has been deemed significant as they are the first royals to join the King on the estate.
Following on from his mother’s tradition of spending the entire summer at the Aberdeenshire castle, King Charles has taken up residence there for the rest of the season.
Ranvir has previously been critical of Prince Andrew saying only his mother would “touch him with a barge pole”.
