Garcelle Beauvais’ first season of RHOBH was explosive. She went toe-to-toe with several castmates and watched her close friend Denise Richards under fire for an alleged affair. Richards is not returning for season 11 but her friendship with Beauvais remains.
Garcelle Beauvais was supportive of Denise Richards through a tough season
Beauvais joined the show as the first full-time Black housewife in season 10. She was introduced to the group through her friendship with Denise Richards. Richards joined the cast a year prior.
During Beauvais’ inaugural season, Richards’ place in the group began to unravel. Former housewife turned friend to the show, Brandi Glanville, alleged that she and Richards were intimate on a number of occasions. Richards denies Glanville’s claims and insists the two were just close friends.

Glanville showed damaging text message receipts that allegedly implicate Richards. Much of the cast believed Glanville’s claims. In turn, Richards not only stopped filming for a period of time – but she also sent production and the cast cease and desist letters to not discuss the alleged affair. Her actions made her co-stars more skeptical of her denial of the affair.
Glanville refuses to change her story and revealed all in an exclusive interview with The Daily Mail. She alleges that Richards and her husband admit to having relationships with other women within their marriage. Per Glanville, Richards begged her to never tell anyone about their hookup. Glanville’s decision to tell all came upon her discovery that Richards’ husband was unaware.
Beauvais fiercely stood by Richards, despite many believing the evidence against her proved Glanville’s claims.
Garcelle Beauvais says she and Denise Richards remain in contact
After a rocky season, Richards opted to not return for another season. Beauvais admits she’s disappointed in her friend’s decision. She previously promised to also not return if Richards chose to exit but has since changed her mind.
During an appearance on The Real, Richards thanked Beauvais for her support, telling her friend, “Garcelle, it almost makes me want to cry…I truly could not have gotten through the season without you, honestly. She is a girl’s girl, a good friend. Your loyalty is beyond and I really could not have gotten through this season without you.”

Luckily, the two remain in contact. Beauvais recently opened up about the status of her friendship with Richards during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
“I do [keep in touch],” she said. “We’ve been trying to get together between her schedule and my schedule, but we text each other and we want to. We just haven’t been able to do it. I miss her. I really do.”
Beauvais is going into her second season on the show. It’s unclear where her friendships lie with the remainder of the cast but she has hinted at forming a closer bond with Erika Jayne.
In addition to her role on the show, Beauvais is still co-hosting The Real. Her acting career is also back in full swing with an appearance in Coming 2 America. She previously had a guest role on the Starz drama Power.
