RICHARD Madeley took another swipe at Piers Morgan calling his Life Stories interview with Sir Keir Starmer "toe curling".
The presenter aired his views on Piers' chat with the Labour leader on Good Morning Britain today.
The Life Stories host billed the interview as an intimate chat with Kier as "you've never seen him before."
But Richard, 65, went on to say today: "Seriously, it was a bit embarrassing."
Sir Keir could be seen choking back tears while talking about the death of his mum during the hour-long chat.
He lost his mother Josephine weeks before he was sworn in as an MP back in May 2015.
He also reflected on his childhood growing up in Surrey and his mum's battle with a rare form of arthritis.
And he revealed through tears how when he was just 13 his father called from the hospital and asked him to prepare his siblings for the worst.
During a segment with MP Jonathan Ashworth, who came on the show to discuss Labour's stance on the extended lockdown, Richard claimed Keir shouldn't have done the interview with Piers.
After calling it "embarrassing" he said: "He’s got quite a lot on his plate at the moment and a lot to do, going on a talk show really. And crying. It was odd."
However his comments sparked fury on Twitter.
One person tweeted: "Richard Madeley said it's "embarrassing" that a man was on TV talking about his emotions & crying.
"Wow. It's actually more embarrassing that people still have this opinion. Keir Starmer was talking about his mother's illness & his family. So disrespectful of Richard."
Another said: "GMB Richard Madeley thought seeing Keir Starmer on #LifeStories was ‘embarrassing’ for showing emotion? That really the best he has got?"
Yesterday, Richard made a dig at Piers as he spoke about taking his place on GMB.
