Up until series five, Riverdale had been about four teenagers solving mysteries while tackling the frequent ups and downs of their young love lives. Fast forward to the Core Four as young adults and now there’s a whole load of other, many more realistic, problems they have to cope with. Of course, Riverdale wouldn’t be Riverdale without the introduction of a new mysterious villain.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Riverdale.
Betty Cooper’s (played by Lili Reinhart) sister Polly (Tiera Skovbye) had lied to her family about still working as a waitress at The Roving Eye nightclub.
She had been spotted hanging out with the Goolies by Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) so it has been that Polly could be selling drugs.
When Betty tried to ring her sister to find out where she was, the show cut to a disturbing scene where Polly was running on The Lonely Highway with a truck following behind her.
Fans were left concerned for Polly as it wasn’t revealed if she managed to escape or if she was killed shortly after.
In terms of the Core Four themselves, they have all been dealing with different issues.
Veronica Lodge’s (Camila Mendes) husband Chadwick (Chris Mason) has been pressuring her about starting a family, while Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) is up to his eyeballs in debt.
A moment everyone had been waiting for finally took place in series five, episode five.
Archie and Betty finally slept together during a raunchy shower scene but they agreed to keep things casual so Barchie isn’t official just yet.
When will the next episode of Riverdale air?
Riverdale will be airing its sixth episode Back to School tonight, Wednesday, February 24, in America on The CW.
Fans living elsewhere will have to wait an extra day for the latest instalment as it is going to be released on Netflix tomorrow, Thursday, February 25.
Usually, Riverdale returns with a brand new episode every week, whether it’d be on a Wednesday or a Thursday, depending on how you view the teen drama.
Unfortunately, this isn’t going to be the case for episode seven.
