Riverdale: Archie and Betty lay in bed with each other
Hit teen series Riverdale is making its long-awaited comeback to screens in the new year. Season five was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic but now the series will be back in earnest. Fans will finally get to see the three remaining episodes from the previous run, which previously couldn’t be completed due to lockdown.
Who is trying to kill Jellybean?
The CW has now released a trailer teasing details and footage from these last three episodes of season four.
Fans have spotted many details within the trailer, which features scenes from the final senior prom.
There is also the big revelation as Veronica Lodge (played by Camila Mendes) tearfully says: “Something happened between Betty and Archie.”
Fisticuffs ensues at one point between Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) and another character, who could be his former best friend Archie Andrews (KJ Apa).

Throughout it all, the rambling plotline involving the sinister videotapes doing the rounds in Riverdale will be coming to a climax.
However, there could be casualties with fans fearing for the life of Jellybean Jones (Trinity Likins) as a knife is pressed to her face while she lies asleep in bed.
Many fans are worried about Jellybean as it could be curtains for the character.
Although Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) appears to be walking around the house with a gun in search of an intruder, she could be too late to stop Jellybean from being murdered.
Viewers have already taken to Reddit to speculate about the identity of the person behind the videotapes and what it all means.
User keine_fragen posted: “It has to be charles, right? who else would get into the house [sic].”
A second fan theorised: “I’m really worried that its going to end up being a parent again. The show is already running out of them as is, not to mention that at least one parent ends up being the mastermind behind something every season. With Clifford it was shocking but now its really starting to get stale.
“In the case of people theorizing the voyeur is Charles, we can’t forget that there’s no way he’d be able to replicate Archie’s encounter with the Black Hood and Clifford’s hanging in perfect detail, he wasn’t there at either events and while Clifford’s wouldn’t be too much work, Archie trembling in front of the Black Hood at Pop’s Diner was something that only traveled by word of mouth, inner circle only. In any event, the voyeur isn’t alone.
“There’s multiple actors in the videos now and as far as I know Charles has never had any independent backup [sic].”
User Mistake-Several posted: “Maybe it’s Pop, who’s so done with all these kids.”
While TVJunkies89 joked: “At this point it could be Jason Blossom for all we know [insert ridiculous storyline of the body being fake or Julian actually having been born or whatever, etc.].
“It will be whatever the writers decide at the last minute, as usual- no matter how farfetched or asinine.”
Icy-Marketing-5242 reasoned: “But also remember charles is in the fbi and chick got some good info on them too.
“If Charles isn’t somehow involved that whole plot is mute and that’s dumb. Tis definitely Charles related [sic].”
However, the popular theory seems to be Charles Smith (Wyatt Nash) is the one behind the whole thing because of his FBI intel.

To make matters worse, in the trailer Jughead and Betty are issued a warning from an incarcerated Bret Weston Wallis (Sean Depner), who says: “Something’s come and it’s going to hit you like a Mack Truck.”
Once these episodes are done, the show will move on to the big season five twist: the time jump.
The time jump will see the action shaken up radically in Riverdale with the major characters several years older than their teen incarnations and in a different place to where they were in high school.
Casting details have suggested the characters will have also moved on romantically from their high school beaus with Jughead now dating someone new.
The same is true for Veronica, who has a new partner which is unsurprising given Archie cheated on her.
All four of the main characters are likely to be changed by their experiences away from Riverdale, particularly Jughead, Betty and Veronica.
Riverdale season 5 premieres on The CW on January 20 and on Netflix UK on January 21
