Ross Kemp revealed he is considering a shock return to EastEnders.
The actor – who stars as Grant Mitchell in the BBC soap – was last seen in Walford in 2016.
Speaking about his time on the show, the 56-year-old confessed he would love to make a comeback at some point.
Chatting to Entertainment Daily, he said: ‘I don’t think you ever rule it out. But that would be down to the BBC, that’s not down to me.
‘I would never say no to going back to anything. I’ve always enjoyed acting and if an acting role came along, I would take it if it was something that I thought I would enjoy.
‘And like everybody else, beggars can’t be choosers right now. We all take what we can get while we can because who knows what the future holds. It’s been a very, very tough year.
‘I haven’t suffered as badly as others but I think everybody in their own way is finding it tough.’
Someone get BBC bosses on the phone ASAP.
Ross first quit the show in 1999, after 10 years in the role and some of the most explosive storylines in Enders history.
Despite the official exit, he had made a string of brief returns to Albert Square, most recently in 2016, to coincide with Barbara Windsor’s final episodes as onscreen mum Peggy Mitchell.
One of his most iconic moments on the show was the Sharongate episode – when he clashed with brother Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) after finding out that he had slept with wife Sharon (Letitia Dean).
The scenes had viewers glued to their screens as Grant broke down over the betrayal.
Lifting the lid on shooting the footage – during an appearance on The One Show – Ross explained he tapped into a tragic family death to nail the heartbreak.
‘That was manufactured by me, it wasn’t in the bottle,’ he told the hosts. ‘So we had a snot continuity problem. So I had to go off in the corner and cry a bit more, using my emotional recall.
‘My granddad had just passed, so I was sort of using that to get myself in the mood. But everyone was so helpful, everyone was really kind.
‘In those days, you shot scenes as one so like 12 page scenes you just shot them as one. You could do it in those days.’
Anyone else excited about the possibility of having Grant, Phil and Sharon back on our screens once again?
