When Sam Mitchell (played by Danniella Westbrook at the time) was last in EastEnders, she departed Walford and left son Ricky in Jack Branning’s (Scott Maslen) care.
Jack has brought his son up ever since and now, with Sam (now played by Kim Medcalf) back in Albert Square he faces a problem as Ricky doesn’t actually know who his mum is.
As Sam returns, she immediately gets on the wrong side of Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Sharon (Letitia Dean), who are less than pleased to see her.
Sam stays tight lipped about why she’s back but takes great pleasure in winding both of them up.

The next day, Ricky reels from the news that his mum is back in town and has an awkward interaction with her at Walford East.
Spotting an opportunity, Sam confronts Jack – but what does she want?
Jack is riled as Sam goes to extreme lengths to get her own way and soon, he gets a worrying phone call.
But what is Sam up to?
And how much trouble is she prepared to land Jack in?
