PETER Barlow has been terrified of a potential relapse in psychosis for his wife Carla Connor.
Unbeknownst to the couple, Coronation Street killer Stephen Reid could make all their worries go up in literal flames.
The businessman played by Canadian actor Todd Boyce is holding a grudge after he was demoted by the Underworld leading lady.
Since then, he's been making her life a nightmare without her even realising it as he's spiked many of her drinks with LSD.
Next week, Carla (Alison King) looks for help and tells her GP, Dr Gaddas, that she's felt like she was on drugs during each of her recent episodes and the doctor prescribes her diazepam.
While she deals with what she believes is her declining mental health, Carla is also trying to keep her business afloat.

When the Americans arrive, Stephen has the audacity to remind Carla how it's imperative for her to be on her top form, although he knows all about the mind tricks LSD can play on someone.
Carla is astounded by his nerve and, as she takes charge, orders him to make the tea.
Angry and feeling belittled, Stephen strikes again by double dosing Carla's drink.
As the meeting draws to a close, her behaviour becomes erratic and when the Americans leave, the girls celebrate a done deal before they're interrupted by a worse for wear Carla.

She barks at them to get out of her factory and the girls are all dumbstruck.
Meanwhile, Stephen allows himself a satisfied smile – but he's not done with Carla.
The following day, Carla begins to feel better and announces she's going back to work.
She assures Peter (Chris Gascoyne) and Stephen that it was nothing more than a blip but when she goes to make a drink, Carla smashes a mug and cuts her finger.
Finding it hard to cope, she concedes and accepts she may need another chat with Dr Gaddas who, later, suggests she takes an extended break and goes back on her antipsychotic drugs.
Stephen makes the most of the distraction and swipes Carla's keys from the factory.
Before long, he manages to let himself into the flat and, once he makes sure Carla is asleep, drops her keys back into her bag before heading to the kitchen to turn on the grill.

Will Carla wake up in time?
This wouldn't be the first time a Weatherfield resident schemed while she's been asleep.
In 2015, Tracy Barlow accidentally caused the Victoria Court fire when she believed Carla was responsible for her ex-fiancé Rob Donovan's incarceration.
The fire caused the deaths of Maddie Heath and Kal Nazir while Carla was saved by Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).
