Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Karim Zeroual’s fate sealed as former pro speaks out?

Karim Zeroual and Amy Dowden found themselves fighting for their place in the final last weekend before all four judges unanimously voted to see them dance again. The CBBC presenter is the only Strictly finalist to have been in the dreaded dance-off and it the bookmakers’ least favourite contestant to win the BBC show. As the couple prepare for the final, former professional Camilla Sacre-Dallerup offered up a reason which could explain why Karim won’t lift the Glitterball Trophy.

Throughout the competition, Craig Revel Horwood has picked up on Karim’s emotional content in his dancing.

In week 10, following his contemporary routine, he said: “It was dynamic, I thought it was engaging, I thought it had great leaps great turns.

“But I have to say I think at the moment you’re a technician and not an actor and that bothers me.

“There could have been a lot more story in that I think it’s lacking emotional talent I really do and this is to do with a lot of your dancing throughout this series.

“I’m being serious about this cause I want you to fly I am desperate to get a ten out for you darling I really am.

“But I’m battling with the fact your technique is overpowering what you’re trying to say in the dance.”

Although Karim received a perfect score the following week, last weekend he received marks of 36 and 38.

Could Karim’s emotional interpretation of his dances stop him from lifting the Glitterball Trophy as viewers fail to pick up and vote?

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Camilla discussed the importance of emotionally connecting with a dance.

She explained: “Obviously, the steps are really important and making sure they’re right.

“But a lot of the time, it’s about like unlocking the emotion of the dance and getting that emotion right.”

“That can be really hard for people in life, unlocking your emotions and being able to be in touch with how you’re feeling,” the life coach continued.

I used to joke to people and say I spend my whole life in a meditative state but actually, when you move your body, and this is what we see a lot on the show, if people get to do a Rumba and suddenly they’re moving in a certain way, you start to shift your energy within.

“Your body wants to connect to the mind with this whole kind of emotion thing.

“[On Strictly] I’ve had two partners burst into tears, the first time to do the bowls,” she added “It’s like a real inner journey they go on.”

The Strictly pro suggest the secret to success on Strictly is for celebrities to go on “huge inner journeys” giving viewers the opportunity to connect with the dances.

“What is so magical about the dancing and Strictly Come Dancing and the reason why it’s a worldwide success is that there are huge inner journeys that everybody goes on when they go on the show.

“That’s probably what we all connect to really is the feelings, isn’t it?

“We see them struggle, we see them succeed and we see them cry and break down so we can say ‘That’s just like me, you know?’”

Could this mean Emma Barton will win the Glitterball Trophy as she is the least consistent celebrity left in the competition?
