Strictly stars will pay tribute to Caroline Flack in moving Christmas special

Strictly Come Dancing stars pay tribute to Caroline Flack in the show’s Christmas special, the Daily Star can reveal.

The presenter, who died earlier this year, won the BBC contest in 2014.

In footage that will air on Christmas Day, pro dancer Janette Manrara said: “Caroline was a part of the Strictly family then and still is a part of the Strictly Come Dancing family today. I miss her.”

Pasha, who was Caroline’s dance partner, talks about an emotional contemporary dance they did together.

He said: “In that dance Caroline managed to show her real emotions. And I think that’s the key why the audience would connect to it and feel exactly what was happening in the dance.”

Judge Craig Revel Horwood also remembers that routine fondly.

He said: “It was the first time we saw contemporary done in a beautiful and imaginative way. It shows Caroline at her very best. Beautiful technique, beautiful emotion and beautifully danced.”

Caroline won her series after getting some of the best scores in show history.

Strictly also paid a moving tribute to the TV star in September this year, with their Strictly: The Best of the Final show.

In the programme, the Strictly judges and hosts took a look back at the last 17 finales, reminiscing about the show's most special moments.

Speaking ahead of The Best Of show, Janette Manrara said of Caroline to The SUn: "Caroline was loved by all on Strictly and was a hugely popular winner among the executive and the crew.

"She was a bundle of energy and they thought if they were going to look at some of the best finals ever it would be fitting to feature her in a big way. She’s sorely missed by many, but particularly by her Strictly family."
