Strictly's Jody Cundy rushed to hospital in 4am health scare – missing days of rehearsals and putting live show at risk | The Sun

STRICTLY Come Dancing star Jody Cundy was rushed to hospital this week after a terrifying health scare.

It is unclear if the 44-year-old Paralympian, who is partnered with Jowita Przystal, will be performing in the live show this weekend after being unable to rehearse for days.

Jody, who had a leg amputated when he was three, woke in the middle of the night to find his leg swollen and infected this week.

Speaking on It Takes Two about his ordeal, Jody said: “It's been a week of highs and lows. The first two days have absolutely flown by. The end of day two we had done the full routine a number of times which I had not done for the previous two dances.

“I was really confident that I could perfect everything for Saturday. I got home on Tuesday night and took my leg off and was like 'oh, that's quite sore'.

“I didn't really think too much of it and cleaned it, bathed it and made sure it was all ok.

“I got up at 4am and looked at my leg, it was warm, swollen and I was like 'that's getting infected'.”

He dashed to hospital and was given antibiotics but was unable to put his prosthetic legs back on because his limb was so swollen.

He added to host Janette Manrara: "It is healing and getting better. The swelling has gone down a little bit more."

Jody later added that he hoped he would be back on the dance floor this weekend.
