Strictly’s Karim Zeroual’s mum makes heartbreaking decision not to watch final

Children's TV presenter Karim Zeroual has wowed both the Strictly judges and the audience with his incredible performances.

And his stunning dance floormoves have won him a place in the final alongside his professional partner, Amy Dowden.

The 25-year-old has even won over notoriously harsh judge, Craig Revel-Horwood and is one of the most popular contestants backstage.

Karim has developed a close bond with dance partner, Amy, and even has an adorable secret plan for her wedding next year.

He will give a speech on her big day after the pair became friends for life while competing on the show.

Not only that, but the CCBC star's secret girlfriend, Poppy Birtwhistle, is also good pals with pro dancer Amy.

But Karim's road to the top hasn't been easy.

He lost his best pal, Louella Michie, when she died at the Bestival music festival in 2017.

Her boyfriend, Ceon Broughton, was jailed for her manslaughter after supplying her with the Class A drug 2CP.

Karim was devastated by Louella's death, who he has described as his "sister and best friend".

A close friend of his told the Daily Record: “Karim thought the world of Louella and loved to dance with her.

"There is no doubt she will be in his mind during some of the more emotional moments of the show. He really adored her.”

Karim was raised by his mum Carol, a single parent, and there was so little money he almost didn't make it to drama school because she couldn't afford the fees.

However, the talented youngster made it in on merit and has never looked back.

Carol was in the Strictly audience when her son performed his incredibly emotional Couple' Contemporary dance.

Pictures emerged of her with tears running down her face with pride.

But heartbreakingly, she was so overwhelmed she has told Karim she won't be coming to watch him perform live again.

He told Rylan on It Takes Two: "She doesn't wanna come again. Literally, her words.

"She was like 'I don't wanna do this anymore'. But she was so proud."

Karim admitted the dance he performed on the night was extra special because it reminded him of his relationship with his mum and sister.

He added: "I love her, she's my rock and so's my sister. I wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for them."
