Strictlys Kaye Adams cries for help mid-dance as fans baffled by alter-ego

Loose Women star Kaye Adams made a silent cry for help as she took to the dancefloor for her debut Strictly Come Dancing performance.

The popular ITV presenter was practising for her Tango alongside her partner Kai Widdrington in her introductory VT when she was seen mouthing "help" at fans as she panicked over her debut.

Kaye, 59, then took to the stage to deliver the performance after admitting she had been struggling in training and was going to have to bring out her "alter-ego."

Viewers then saw Kaye take to the dancefloor dressed in a glamorous red ensemble as she put herself through the paces facing her nerves head-on to Abba's Voulez-Vous with fellow Loose Women Nadia Sawalha and Jane Moore cheering her on from the sidelines.

Following the routine Kaye felt the need to apologise as she was sure she had made a few mistakes.

She said: "I mucked up lots of the steps, I’m so sorry. This man has worked so hard and has been so patient."

However, partner Kai was quick to play it down and praise her for her efforts. He said: "The times we have got tough in training and you have dusted it off, you’re a trooper in training… It’s only a minor mistake!"

Fans then took to Twitter to comment on how Kaye – or her alter-ego – did.

One wrote: "Oh god an alter ego, sign of desperation."

Another added: "Oh my gosh I feel for Kaye. Nerves took over. She looked lovely. I certainly couldn't do it."

A third said: "Kaye & Kai. Okay this is hard not to be bias… she looked so nervous but kai was such a gentleman leading her round and supporting her every step! Shame about the mistakes but so many positives still!"

A fourth social media user Tweeted: "Kaye was better than I thought pleasantly surprised, well done to her as she's not a performer like many of the others."

A fifth said: "Anton DuBeke to Kaye Adams…your footwork was good. well the bits you wanted to do. Hahaha. How true."
