The Apprentice’s fired Brittany shares the one item banned from the interview room

The Apprentice’s fired Brittany Carter has divulged some big behind-the-scenes show secrets, including the fact that clocks are banned throughout the brutal interview process.

Viewers watched as Brittany and her fellow female finalists – Kathryn Burn, Stephanie Affleck and Harpreet Kaur – were put through their paces in a series of savage interviews by Lord Alan Sugar’s most trusted advisors.

Now, after becoming the latest candidate to be fired by Lord Sugar when her business plan failed to impress, bubbly 25 year old has broken her silence on the much-discussed interview stage.

Speaking to OK! and other press outlets, Brittany explained that while viewers only see a snippet of the interviews, the interrogation actually goes on for much longer.

The budding businesswoman said: “You’re not actually allowed a clock in the process, so you never know the time, but it felt like each interview was about an hour.”

Brittany went on to joke: “It also felt like the lift up to the interview was about an hour as well – but that was only ten seconds!”

She went on to reveal: “Even walking to the interview – it’s a massive room, about an acre big with one desk in the middle – took me so long.”

Brittany also explained that because there are back-to-back interviews with the line-up, including the show’s aide Claude Littner, the candidates are in for a long day.

She continued: “You come back down to the waiting room and you have about a half an hour gap in between where the anxiety is just rising and rising.

“So it’s the whole day. I think we got there at 9am and we left when it was dark. It was a long day. Intense.”

However, despite being on the receiving end of some harsh comments and becoming the latest boardroom casualty, Brittany said she took a lot away from the process and has not been deterred.

In fact, she’s still going full steam-ahead with her plans for an alcoholic protein drink, despite Lord Sugar’s reservations.

The Bristolian, who worked as a hotel Front of House Manager, explained: “I have such faith, passion and backing for my business and my product and am absolutely still launching it.

“Because I’m in the demographic and I can see the huge demand from consumers, I know that it’s going to be a huge success.”

She concluded: “I’m actually launching in 5-6 weeks. We’ve finalised a recipe now with a professional drinks manufacturer, so it tastes fantastic. I’m going to give it all I’ve got.”
