The Big Bang Theory fans spot Howard plot hole as relationship with mother ‘is built on a lie’

THE Big Bang Theory fans have spotted a Howard plot hole claiming his relationship with mother ‘is built on a lie’.

During the 12 season run of the hit CBS sitcom, Howard – played by Simon Helberg – was the butt of everyone's jokes for being so dependent on his mother, who he still lived with.

While Mrs Wolowitz – played by the late Carol Ann Susi – was never seen on camera, the character didn't like her son leaving her side for very long.

But one viewer has noticed a major plot hole in that story thread, as Howard studied for a time-consuming masters degree in Aerospace Engineering at MIT University in Boston.

With his mother residing in Pasadena, California, it seemed particularly strange to the viewer that Howard would still be so dependent on his mother despite studying on the other side of the country.

Writing on Reddit, they posted: "Howard is portrayed as a character who never moved out of his mother's house in Pasadena, and is a horrendous childlike man.

"The problem is he has a Master's degree from MIT a school on the other side of the country.

“So how did he get a six year degree from a school in Boston if he never left Pasadena?

“If he did then why is he after six years so dependent on his mother?”

The post lead other fans to speculate about Howard's relationship with his mother, with one replying: "Maybe she came with him."

Another replied: "I wouldn't be surprised if she did."

Meanwhile a third joked: "He went to space and still couldn't get away. School across the country is nothing.”
