A contestant on The Chase had fans floored with her incredible performance and over a special announcement from presenter Bradley Walsh.
Margot, a psychotherapist, played alongside Ria, Tom and Colin on the gameshow as they went head to head in an attempt to take home a huge cash prize.
The team played against Chaser Jenny Ryan, who noted that all their names seemed to resemble popular cocktails and joked that it was Bradley’s tac-tic to try and “put her off”.
As Bradley introduced the hopefuls, he noted that Margot was actually playing The Chase on her 91st birthday.
Fans erupted on Twitter over the news, congratulating her on her birthday and saying that they were “already rooting for her”.
Admirers also said that they “hoped she looks as good as Margot at her age” and one even tweeted that she “looks about 70.”
As her predecessors sped through their rounds, Margot was the fourth and final contestant to be brought up to the podium and face the Chaser.
She wore a classy leopard print top with a large pearl necklace and styled her short blonde hair in a bob cut.
The psychotherapist told Bradley that she lives in Maidenhead but was born in Germany and arrived in London in 1939
Margot said she’s had an “interesting life” and wrote a book 10 years ago called Vintage 1930 – Still Here.
When asked what she wants to do with the cash prize, Margot replied that she wanted a “nice big telly” that she can watch “everything” on.
Margot only won £2,000 in the quick fire round which got her through to a tense battle against the Chaser.
Jenny offered her minus £11,000 or a high offer of £65,000, but she settled for the middle offer of £2,000.
She won the round and added her money to the prize pot, making their total £37,000, and the full-house team progressed into the final.
One viewer tweeted: “She did it!”
“Well played Margot. Refused the low offer and got through. Older lady with principals, unlike some of the contestants in the past,” praised another Twitter user.
“Hope they win tonight, they’re a nice team,” wondered a keen fan.
Jenny eventually beat the entire team with three seconds left on the clock and Bradley said it was the most "extraordinary game he had played in a while".
The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm
