The Chase's Bradley Walsh blasts contestant for giving teammate VERY controversial advice

VIEWERS of The Chase were shocked by a recent contestants lack of team confidence.

Fans of the ITV quiz show were baffled by Wednesday's edition of the show when one teammate seemed to have lost faith in another's ability.

The show's host Bradley Walsh recruited four new competitors to take down Chaser Paul Sinha.

His next batch of hopefuls Fiona, Omeed, Jill and Michael seemed to be off to a positive start as first up Jill managed to beat the Sinnerman by getting every question correct in the head-to-head.

Omeed didn't fair too well, and his journey on The Chase was cut short, but Jill redeemed herself and managed to outrun the chaser.

Building up a £3,000 cash-builder, Michael asked his panel of comrades what amount to go for when taking on the Sinnerman and Bradley, 61 was stunned by what Fiona said.

Making it safely back to the desk first, Fiona had watched her teammates come and go and when Michael was offered -£3,000 to take a step closer to home, suggested he could take the lower offer.

Bradley was left puzzled by the response.

The host said: "Don't go there Fiona. Leave it

"Don't open the door for him. What are you doing?"

The show has a very loyal Twitter fanbase who take to social media to vent about the competition and show support or disdain for its contestants, and taking the lower offer never bodes well online.

Michael had been more supportive when asked by fellow players on what amount they should take and suggested that every player should take the middle offer.

Following his own advice, he stayed with his £3,000 and made it back to base.

Despite making it to the final line-up, fans realised that Michael contributed very little.

"Well all that knowledge that Michael was going to provide seems to have been lost somewhere…..#TheChase," one fan tweeted while adding laughing emojis.

Another echoed the sentiment: "No point Michael being there really #TheChase."

The team had £12,000 riding on the Final Chase but were left penniless when caught by The Chaser.

The Chase is on weekdays on ITV and ITV Hub at 5 pm
