Things are really ramping up on Fox’s hit variety show, The Masked Singer, and this week was no exception. In the latest episode, audiences saw The Masked Singer reveal the Skunk, and the crowd went wild. Before we dig into who was behind the mask, let’s take a look at which celebrities we’ve seen so far.
Some of ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 6 celebs revealed so far
Producers promised unbelievable talent this season on the show, and so far, they have definitely delivered. In week one eliminations, audiences saw Los Angeles Laker Dwight Howard revealed as the Octopus. He performed Little Richard’s hit Tutti Frutti, and some of the panelists even guessed his identity correctly right off the bat.
We also saw The Masked Singer reveal Mother Nature as movie star Vivica A. Fox and the Pufferfish as Grammy-winning artist Toni Braxton. Fox told the crowd performing for the show was unlike anything she’d ever done before, and Braxton said participating helped ease her recent anxiety caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Hip-hop fans were blown away by the Dalmatian’s reveal. It was Tyga behind the mask. Of course, we can’t forget the Baby this season either. The Baby was one of the weirder performances audiences have seen to date. Larry the Cable Guy was the celebrity behind that character.
We saw the reveal of the Cupcake in an earlier episode and it was Ruth Pointer of The Pointer Sisters. She was originally supposed to perform as a duo with her sister, but she fell ill and Pointer had to perform on her own.
What hints were in the Skunk’s clue package?
The Skunk got creative with the clues about their identity. They sang the song Diamonds by Sam Smith and talked about the “yin and yang of life.” There was also a hint that the diva had worked with or knew the Pufferfish (Toni Braxton) at one point. One thing fans did catch was a reference to the capital of South Korea, Seoul, on a train. Put the two together, and you’ve got a play on “Soul Train.”
The Skunk also performed songs by James Brown as well as Gladys Knight and the Pips. All of the panelists were impressed with the vocals behind the mask, but there was a wide variety of guesses from the group. The mention of the word “empire” and the box of cookies in the clue led Ken Jeong to believe it might be actor Taraji P. Henson behind the mask. Jenny McCarthy threw out the idea of Queen Latifah, while Nicole Scherzinger thought it might be Tamar Braxton.
‘The Masked Singer’ Revealed the Skunk to be Faith Evans
When the mask was removed, the crowd went wild to see Faith Evans. Plenty of fans had predicted it was the famous R&B singer, but it’s always nice to get the confirmation. Thicke was one of the panelists who guessed it was Evans in the Skunk costume and he was thrilled to get it correct.
