The competition is heating up in the fifth season of The Masked Singer as the final four faced off in the semi-finals this week. Although the Yeti was also left out in the cold, Fox viewers were more concerned with finding out the identity of this year’s most elusive new character, Cluedle-Doo.

Fans were treated to two unmaskings during this week’s intense semi-final round of The Masked Singer.

Tonight’s contest saw the Yeti, Black Swan, Chameleon and Piglet battle it out for a place in next week’s grand finale.

Thankfully, this year’s favourite to win, Black Swan, managed to beat out the rest of the competition.

Failing to impress the voters with his version of ‘Celebration’ by Kool & the Gang, the Yeti was revealed to be none other than B2K frontman, Omarion.

However, after mixing things up considerably for the fifth season of the unpredictable talent show, The Masked Singer finally revealed the identity of its most secretive new addition.

The show’s live audience issued stunned reactions when actor and singer Donnie Wahlberg was unmasked as Cluedle-Doo.

After offering some even more mind-boggling hints and clues throughout the season, Cluedle-Doo came out to perform ‘Return of the Mack’ by Mark Morrison.

Long-running panelist Jenny McCarthy was equally shocked when her own husband was revealed as the show’s guest star.

One fan joked on Twitter: “Jenny, you’re NEVER gonna live this down!”

Wahlberg gave several clues to his own identity, including a reference to his appearance in the Saw franchise and his starring role alongside fellow judge Ken Jeong in Zookeeper.

Unfortunately, the panelists failed to identify the brother of Hollywood A-lister Mark Wahlberg, leaving fans baffled that McCarthy was unable to recognise her husband of almost seven years.

The panelist instead proposed R&B superstar Akon could be behind the mask, whilst both Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger guessed Jamie Foxx.

Despite the judges’ failure across the board, many viewers had already heavily tipped Wahlberg to make an appearance.

One fan claimed on Twitter: “Knew it was you the minute you started singing!! Been a Donnie girl from the beginning!!”

And another wrote: “Donnie… There’s no way Jen didn’t know that was him. I watch Blue Bloods every week and I knew it was him.”

In addition to his acting, Donnie Wahlberg kick started his career as a founding member of the boyband New Kids on the Block.

As well as the aforementioned cop drama Blue Bloods, Wahlberg has also appeared as himself in several recent television series, including reality show Donnie Loves Jenny and crime series Very Scary People.

Yeti star Omarion was outed by Robin Thicke, who claimed he recognised the B2K lead singer from his first performance.

He joins previous eliminations Tyrese Gibson and the band Hanson, who were unmasked as the Russian Dolls in the previous episode.

After this week’s episode, just Black Swan, Piglet and Chameleon are left in the competition, and will go head-to-head in next week’s highly anticipated finale.

The Masked Singer season 5 concludes Wednesday, May 26 on Fox.
