The Walking Dead spoilers: Dante strangles Siddiq to death after secret Whisperer identity is exposed – The Sun

THE Walking Dead delivered the biggest twist of season 10 in its latest episode.

The AMC drama has seen Alexandria and Hilltop locked in a cold war against the mask-wearing Whisperers for some time now.

With Alpha piling on the pressure by leading walkers to attack their borders and Gamma contaminating their water, the villains have been piling on the pressure ever since Michonne and the gang trespassed onto their territory to put out a forest fire.

However, tensions boiled over this week as Siddiq’s PTSD flashbacks from the mass beheadings confirmed exactly why assistant doctor Dante seemed like a familiar face.

Siddiq was horrified as he remembered that Dante was among the Whisperers who decapitated members of the allied communities before mounting their heads on spikes to mark their turf.

Everything began to sink in as he realised that Dante was helping to poison Alexandria from the inside out by abusing his position as resident medic.

Alas, confronting Dante massively backfired as the brute strangled him to death to prevent the information from spreading.

"I didn't want this. Not you. Not like this," he grunted as he squeezed the life out of him.

As for what comes next, Siddiq actor Avi Naash teased a major fallout from the murder.

"I think his death is going to have some real consequences for the other characters. I think that's what's most important, that we serve the story in the best way possible," he told comicbook.com.

Fans will remember that Carl Grimes sacrificed himself to save Siddiq, contracting a walker bite on a botched rescue mission.

With that in mind, no doubt the death of Siddiq will leave the late Rick turning in his grave.

In recent weeks, rumours began to circulate that Siddiq was in fact The Whisperers’ mole and his visions were a manifestation, but suffice to say this latest development puts the theory six feet under.

The Walking Dead airs on Mondays at 9pm on FOX in the UK and is available to stream on NOW TV.
