THE Walking Dead's Norman Reedus has revealed that the finale of series 10 as a "super war battle" akin to Game of Thrones.
The HBO series finale received a mixed response from fans but the 51-year-old has described the ending to the zombie drama as one of epic proportions.
Norman, who plays the crossbow-wielding Daryl Dixon, told Entertainment Weekly what fans can expect from the delayed finale.
"It’s going to be an epic battle. It’s like a full-on Game of Thrones super war battle."
He added that while it was a fun episode to shoot, it took its toll on not just the actors but also the crew.
Norman said: "It was a lot of fun to shoot, but we really pushed the crew and pushed the actors on that one. Everyone really had to dig deep because… talk about exhausting episodes!"
"There were huge battle scenes until the wee hours of the morning consistently, and it looks so grand on an epic scale. Those battle scenes are going to be legendary.”
Having been on the show since it first aired in 2010, Norman praised the high standards the show has set and says it will go down in history.
Reedus explained: " This show will go down in history. And I feel like every time we get to a finale or even a mid-season finale, we could be in over our heads, but there's a confidence there and everybody really brings it.”
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Neegan in the AMC series, said earlier this month: "It will be cool having a one-off, almost a Walking Dead movie in the middle of the season, I guess."
The actor added: "I think obviously things are going to come to some sort of a head with the Beta and his character.
"We know he’s coming to wipe everybody out with his zombie horde so hopefully we’ll see that come to a head at some point.
"There has to be some sort of battle. Greg Nicotero directed it, so it’s going to be a big massive episode for sure."
The Walking Dead season 10 finale is expected to drop on AMC and NOWTV later this year.
