Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel: Moment student wins £72,000
Viewers of BBC series Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel took to social media in droves after a student won an astonishing £72,000.
Final-year journalism student Amelia had sat out most of the show while the other two contestants had been randomly selected to compete.
As the programme neared its end, she finally got her moment after finding herself in the middle of the circle.
When asked by host Michael what she would do if she won big, Amelia revealed that she would like to start her own publication writing about mental health, which she is passionate about.
Just moments later, she had won the bumper sum after answering just three questions.

Having answered a question on South Africa and Only Fools and Horses with the help of Will Mellor and Ed Ballsself, Amelia found herself in the final round with a maximum prize of £72,000 on offer.
In order to win the top prize she had to team up with the celebrity who had performed the worst on the night which was Gok Wan.
When she decided to go for it, the fashion stylist and TV presenter said “I feel sick,” but she reassured him saying that they were in this together.
The three categories were Disney Songs, Spac, and Gods and Goddesses, and although both hoped for the musical category they instead landed on Gods and Goddesses.
However, the category proved to be a winner as they both got the answer right.
“This is so massive and I can do so many things and change a lot of things,” she said when it sunk in. “This is amazing”
