This Morning presenters Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes, who has stepped in for Holly Willoughby, discussed the recent news that singer Adele had cancelled her residency in Las Vegas. The singer announced last week she was postponing the concerts due to production issues and covid, which left many fans devastated at the cancellation. However, as Phillip and Rochelle branded the situation “heartbreaking”, many viewers didn’t share the same sentiment.
Discussing the incident, Phillip said: “Last October, Adele made her long-awaited return to music and promised fans that 2022 was going to be a busy year, but it hasn’t really started off very well.”
Rochelle continued: “Last week, she hit the headlines after cancelling her three month Las Vegas residency less than 24 hours before she was due on stage.”
The pair spoke to Sam Ruby from LA to get an update on the story, which promoted Phillip to describe the issue as “heartbreaking”.
However, the coverage of the topic left viewers annoyed as they took to Twitter to express their frustration with news outlets continuing to discuss the situation.
@SannyEmmy wrote: “I’m getting a bit bored with this Adele story. Just get one of her lookalikes to do the Vegas residency #thismorning.”
@holly82649091 commented: “I like Adele, but I’m sick of hearing about this #ThisMorning.”
@Mabel_Mouse also queried: “Are we going to hear about Adele every day? #ThisMorning.”
@BigFishermanC sarcastically tweeted: “Adele’s cancelled her Las Vegas tour? You’d think this would’ve got more media coverage #ThisMorning.”
While @NichollsLiese fumed: “I’m sure Adele is a nice lady, but I am sick to death of hearing about her! #thismorning.” (sic)
