The Uncharted movie, which is currently in post-production and scheduled to premiere in February of 2022, will feature Marvel star Tom Holland as treasure hunter Nathan Drake. The character is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, star-based navigation, gun battles, and boasts a near-encyclopedic knowledge of history. The movie is based on the mega-successful video game franchise of the same name.
While the film will feature the same characters that the video game enthusiasts have come to know and love, they will be younger than they are in the games. The movie will function as a prequel of sorts — focusing on how Drake came to befriend Sully (his father figure and mentor). As for the games, Nolan North has been the voice behind the protagonist for quite some time. So, who is North, and how does he feel about Tom Holland stepping in to portray a character has grown intimately familiar with?

North is a voice, film, and television actor who got his breakthrough role as Dr. Chris Ramsey on the ABC soap opera Port Charles in 1997. When the show ended in 2003, he began focusing almost exclusively on voice work.
North is the voice behind Merasmus in Team Fortress 2, Desmond Miles in the Assassins Creed series, Dr. Edward Richtofen in Call of Duty (zombie mode), the Penguin in Batman: Arkham, Drake in Uncharted, and many more. In short, he has lent his voice to a handful of projects.
How does North feel about MCU star Tom Holland’s casting as Nathan Drake?
As E! News reported, North approves of Holland’s casting, and the voice actor took to Twitter to express his excitement. He posted the following Tweet:
“Like looking into a mirror. Proud to have @TomHolland1996 continuing the Drake legacy! Absolutely smashing it! Thanks for the set visit!! @unchartedmovie
Nolan visited the film’s set and got to chat with Holland during the filming process. Though the movie has been through a handful of directors and actors, it looks like it’s finally coming with Holland in the driver’s seat and Antonio Banderas and Mark Wahlberg in supporting roles. Wahlberg is playing Nathan Drake’s mentor, Sully, despite the fact that he was at one point tied to the leading character.
