Katheryn Winnick has been a fan favourite staple of Vikings ever since her introduction in the first season of the History Channel series, which also airs on Amazon Prime. The star recently channeled her character Lagertha in an important Instagram message for her followers.
Lagertha was introduced alongside Ragnar Lothbrok (played by Travis Fimmel) as a core member of the historical epic’s cast of Viking warriors.
A staple of the show since day one, Katheryn has sadly been absent for much of season six.
Ragnar’s first wife and mother to Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig), Lagertha was slain during a brutal battle with Viking rival White Hair (Kieran O’Reilly).
Recent rumours have suggested Lagertha, alongside Ragnar and Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) could make posthumous cameos in the season finale.

For now, Lagertha will no longer play a part in the future of Vikings, and Katheryn Winnick is currently following quarantine measures amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The star recently took to Instagram with a light-hearted message for fellow fans who are also in isolation.
In a powerful message to her 4.2 million Instagram followers, Katheryn used a behind-the-scenes image of herself in costume with a megaphone, and superimposed a speech bubble with the message “Stay home!”
She then echoed the message in a comment accompanying the post, urging Vikings fans to follow procedures and stay inside to save the lives of others and reduce stress for key workers.

Before the lockdown was put in place, Katheryn was expected to be seen in new procedural drama The Big Sky for ABC.
Moreover, she was also set to appear in the films Flag Day and Wander, before the ongoing pandemic forced studios to push the release dates back for most movie releases.
