Vikings fans were a little apprehensive when King Harald (played by Peter Franzen) first appeared on the scene. While it he was a powerful viking warrior, viewers were a little uncertain if he was going to remain a friend or a foe, going forward. Thankfully, by season six, Harald entered the Amazon Prime Video and History show as a staunch defender of Kattegat, alongside his ally Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig).
As the show continued to delve into the inner workings of Harald and his mindset, viewers quickly saw that he was not always the luckiest man on the show.
Despite trying to pursue a number of potential love interests over the seasons, Harald has always come up last in his pursuits.
Now, the final episode of season 6A saw Harald being run through with a sword during the show’s final battle.
This occurred moments before Bjorn himself was fatally attacked by his brother, Ivar the Boneless (Alexander Hogh Andersen).

These events have left Kattegat potentially without any leaders, and has probably left Harald himself to die alone.
However, as the second half of season six is due to air in the future, viewers are hoping they will see many of their favourite characters make triumphant returns to the show.
If this is the case, Harald may make a return in season 6B and could even live to fight another day.
But, the pressing question for Harald and his storyline is: Will he be able to find love and settle down?

Despite his masculine demeanour, it is obvious he has wanted to settle down for some time – but will he be able to do it?
And if so, will Harald find someone new to settle down with in Kattegat, or will he meet someone new on the scene?
Fans of the show were recently left perplexed over an animal that was included in a shot during scenes in Kattegat.
During a scene in season two fans spotted an emu in the small town of Kattegat.

Speaking out about this bird on Reddit, one fan wrote: “How is there an emu in Kattegat?”
Other fans were equally as confused, as another agreed: “I remember watching this with my dad when it aired, (We are Australians) and we said the exact same thing.”
The fan then went on to offer an explanation for the bird, as they added: “I heard that they actually put it in without Travis Fimmel knowing and that look he gave it during the shoot was authentic.
“It was a homage kind of thing to him from the producers because he is Australian.

“But yeah there is no way the Vikings would have come into contact via trade or raid with any civilisations who had managed to obtain Emus.”
Considering Kattegat is situated along the coast of Norway, it would be difficult for the Australian animal to make an appearance there naturally.
However, as the vikings were strong traders, perhaps someone had brought it over from Australia.
