The newly rebooted true crime series, Unsolved Mysteries, is now streaming on Netflix. For fans of the show, the first six episodes are a quick watch. Many are begging for more. So, when does the next installment of the series drop on Netflix?
What’s different about the Netflix reboot of ‘Unsolved Mysteries’?
Unsolved Mysteries was a massive part of the 1990s television. Fans of the original series fondly remember host Robert Stack walking viewers through the various criminal cases, alternative history theories, and paranormal activity.
The Netflix reboot is very similar to the old favorite, with one significant difference. The primary host that everyone remembers — Stack — died May 14, 2003. Although he wasn’t the only person who served as the host, he is the one everyone loved. Original co-creator and EP Terry Dunn Meurer had a tough decision to make about the revival.

“The final decision was that it’s very difficult to fill Robert Stack’s shoes, and his trench coat,” Meurer told TVLine. “He’s just such an iconic voice. He’s such a signature of the show. We also wanted the actual participants in the stories, the family members, and law enforcement [officers] to be more involved in telling the stories.”
So, the reboot has no host at all.
When does Netflix’s ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ Part 2 drop?
The first part of Unsolved Mysteries dropped on Netflix on July 1, 2020, with an initial six episodes. However, season 1 of the series includes 12 total episodes. So, when will viewers be able to stream that last half?
Netflix announced no official release date. However, a public relations representative from Unsolved Mysteries told Decider that Volume 2 of the series would premiere this year. Since there will be significantly fewer new shows coming back this fall because of the coronavirus (COVID-19), it seems likely that Netflix could capitalize on the lack of TV.
We might speculate that Unsolved Mysteries could return for a fall premiere in September or October 2020, when viewers have had two to three months to digest the first half. You can stream the original series on Prime Video, Hulu, Tubi, or Pluto TV.
How many of the original ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ were solved?
Since Unsolved Mysteries began in 1987, the show featured over 1,000 unsolved crimes, missing people, paranormal events, and unanswered questions. After each episode, viewers sent in tips involving anything they thought might help solve the case. To date, over half of the original mysteries were resolved due to viewer tips, according to Grunge.

The producer is hoping that they will have even more after viewers can sit down and watch the series this weekend.
