OLLY Murs is an English singer-songwriter and television presenter who rose to fame as a contestant on the X-Factor.
The cheeky chappy from Essex has gone onto appear on several TV shows – including ITV's new singing competition Starstruck.
Who is Olly Murs?
Oliver Stanley Murs was born on May 14, 1984, in Witham, Essex, to Vicky-Lynn and Pete Murs.
He has a twin brother named Ben and a sister called Fay.
He was educated in Braintree and played for the school football team and then played semi-professionally for Witham Town from 2006 to 200 before an injury forced him to retire.
He later worked for a local recruitment consultancy and used to perform in a cover band called Small Town Blaggers with his friend Jon Goodey.
Is Olly Murs single?
Olly has been in a relationship since 2019 when he first began dating fitness fanatic Amelia Tank after seeing her pictures on Instagram.
A source told The Sun on Sunday at the time: “Amelia’s Instagram feed caught his eye and they started swapping flirty messages.”
The source added that they then met up at an Essex gym in July and agreed to date from there.
Olly officially confirmed his relationship with his new girlfriend Amelia on New Year’s Day by sharing a loved-up snap of them together.
The singer opened up about his relationship on Good Morning Britain and revealed they first met up just after his knee operation and that he doesn’t know why she’s with him.
He told Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway: “I had my hair shaven, I had one leg, and big belly – I don't know why she's with me!"

Who else has Olly dated?
Olly split from Francesca Thomas, his girlfriend of three years, at the end of 2015.
The former X Factor star had a year-long relationship with TV’s Mel Sykes in 2017 after the pair bonded over a love of fitness and sent each other dozens of text messages.
However their relationship eventually fizzled as he stepped up promotion for The Voice.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun Online in 2019, the Troublemaker singer revealed he wouldn't date anyone famous again because it gives him anxiety.
How did Olly Murs become famous?
Olly Murs first came to the public's attention on The X Factor.
In 2009, he sang Stevie Wonder’s Superstition in his audition, which wowed the judges – Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole.
He had previously tried to make it on the show twice but failed to get through to the audition stage.
Olly progressed to the final during which he duetted with his idol Robbie Williams – who fluffed his lines as he came on stage but recovered with Olly’s help.
Olly lost the coveted X Factor crown to Joe McElderry but signed a joint contract with Epic Records and Syco Music and released his debut single Please Don’t Let Me Go in August 2010.
It went straight to the top of the singles chart and he's been on the up ever since.
Olly has gone on to record and release four more albums, all of which have gone platinum and straight to the top of the album chart.
He also had eight top ten singles, four of which were Number One.
In November 2018 Olly released his latest album You Know I Know.
What TV shows has Olly Murs been in?
Olly has also turned his hand to presenting, which was kick-started when he sat in for Comedy Dave Vitty on the Chris Moyles Show on Radio 1 for a week.
He then co-hosted the eighth and ninth series of the Xtra Factor with Caroline Flack before they took over from Dermot O’Leary to present the twelfth series of the main show.
Both he and Caroline quit at the end of the run.
He has also starred as a coach on The Voice for the 2018 series and has played for the Soccer Aid England squad five times in a row.
And in 2022, it was announced that he had would be back on Saturday night TV as the host of new ITV singing competition Starstruck.
It will be the first time he has presented a prime-time flagship show on his own and insiders revealed how he was raring to go.
One said: “Olly is absolutely thrilled about joining the Starstruck team. As well as being a hugely successful musician he’s more than proved his merit on the telly. After watching him do his stuff on the last series of The Voice, ITV bosses knew that he was the right choice to present Starstruck.
“Olly has great stage presence and is full of fun. Not only that, he knows exactly what it’s like to be on a TV show where you’re being judged. He has been on The Voice for four years and he made a name for himself on The X Factor as runner-up on the 2009 series.
