BELLE Hassan opened up to Anton Danyluk about her father's profession during a recent date with the Scottish hunk on Love Island.
When mentioning that her dad is an established actor, Anton seemed intrigued to know more – and you probably are too! Here's what we know about Tamer Hassan.
Who is Tamer Hassan?
Tamer Hassan is an English actor of Turkish descent.
He was born on March 16, 1968 in South Bermondsey, London.
Prior to earning his big break in the film industry, Tamer had landed himself a recurring role in BBC’s EastEnders, portraying the character of Ahmet between 2001 until 2008.
By 2004, Tamer was well on his way to receive national recognition when he starred alongside Orlando Bloom and Billie Piper in 2004’s The Calcium Kid, which also became his first motion picture.
That same year, Belle's dad bagged himself another big role after being cast as Fred – the leader of the Millwall firm – in The Football Factory.
The film included Roland Manookian, Frank Harper and Danny Dyer.
It seemed as if Tamer had left quite an impression on the film’s director Nick Love, who would later go on to cast him in the 2005 flick The Business.
Other notable films the actor has been featured in include The Ferryman, Cass, Eastern Promises, Batman Begins and Clash of the Titans, where he played Ares, the ancient Greek god of war.
And in 2017, Tamer played Hate ‘Em in the ever-so-funny comedy crime series titled Snatch – unfortunately, the show only lasted for two seasons.
Did he play a role in Game of Thrones?
Yes, he sure did.
In 2016, Tamer secured himself the role of Khal Forzo in Game of Thrones.
This meant that he was filming on set with the likes of Jason Momoa and Emilia Clarke during his time on the HBO show.
Unlike previous television shows, however, Tamer was only featured in one episode.
How has Tamer reacted to his daughter being on Love Island?
In an exclusive interview with The Sun Online, Tamer revealed that he wasn’t ecstatic to find out that his daughter was entering the Love Island villa, but he’s happy to see her have found a genuine connection with Anton.
He said: “I am happy that she has found someone and that her holiday and experience has been extended for as long as it can. I want her to have the best time of her life.”
When asked whether he thought his daughter was playing a game in the Love Island villa, Tamer responded, saying: “Look, it IS a game, everybody is playing a game.
“My advice to Belle was: 'Listen, be yourself but I am watching every move, remember who your dad is and do the right stuff.”
