Coronation Street viewers will soon see the arrival of Lou, the wife of Rufus Donahue (Steven Meo).
Rufus was murdered by Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) a few months ago after he worked out that he had been drugging Carla (Alison King) with LSD. Just like his previous two victims, Stephen killed Rufus because he couldn’t risk his dark secrets being exposed, choosing to drown him in the swimming pool at his home.
His actions come back to haunt him soon as Rufus’ wife makes her way to Weatherfield.

She calls at the factory and tells Stephen and Michael (Ryan Russell) that she’s cancelled the meeting as the inquest report into Rufus’ death is due out tomorrow, she suspects foul play and has contacted the Gazette.
As the week continues, Lou approaches Stephen and Carla and reveals that Coroner concluded Rufus died by misadventure.
With Lou under the impression that there’s more to Rufus’ death, Stephen is then horrified when he sees his tie pin in a bag that Lou shows him which contains the things found at the side of the pool when Rufus died.
Lou reveals that she’s going to show the tie pin to the police as it didn’t belong to Rufus, leaving Stephen at risk of having his true self revealed once more.
Ahead of her arrival, actress Eleanor Howell has shared a brilliant tweet revealing a surprise connection to Steven Meo.
It turns out that Eleanor and Steven are husband and wife in real life – just like their characters!
‘Well, don’t mind if I do…Delighted to say I’m joining the lovely bunch at Corrie! Following in @stevemeo’s footsteps, Catch me as my real life hubby’s on screen widow!’, she wrote on Twitter.
