Whoopi Goldberg Shuts Down Meghan McCain, Tells Her to Respect ‘The View’ Co-Hosts

‘You know what, let me tell you something about ‘The View’,’ says Whoopi to Meghan, the only conservative co-host in the panel, following a screaming match with Joy Behar.

AceShowbiz -Screaming match is not something new on “The View“, but apparently co-host Whoopi Goldberg has had enough of it. In the Tuesday, October 29 episode of the morning talk show, she shut down Meghan McCain after she refused to hear other co-hosts’ opinion during a discussion.

During the episode, they talked about a military officer who was asked to testify about President Donald Trump‘s Ukraine call. It didn’t take long before it escalated to a heated discussion between conservative Meghan and Joy Behar. Attempting to get them stop, Whoopi chimed in, “Eveybody take a breath.”

But the daughter of John McCain continued talking, prompting Whoopi to say, “Hold on, let me just finish what I’m saying so that I can just say-… everybody has something to say at the table. We really do want to hear from everybody.” Meghan then interjected by saying, “But what is that thing?”

“In which you’re talking over each other,” Whoopi responded, to which Meghan retorted, “Well, it’s ‘The View’.”

“It is ‘The View’,” Whoopi replied before she proceeded to school Meghan. “You know what, let me tell you something about ‘The View.’ This show has always had the ability to have different points of view, which we respect around the table.”

“And when we talk to each other, we also exhibit respect,” Whoopi added calmly. “So when I’m saying to you, ‘Hold up,’ — because we’re not hearing each other. I’m not trying to cut you up. I’m trying to get you heard. That’s my point, that’s what you’re doing right now! And we’ll be right back!”

Talking to Entertainment Tonight in a recent interview, Meghan dished on her feelings about being the only conservative voice on the panel. “I try to just remind myself that I’m representing 50% of the country,” she said at the time. “I’m representing a bunch of women even though I only have one chair, and it’s really important.”

“Some days are really smooth and some days are Jeanine Pirro,” she continued, referring to an explosive exchange between the Fox News host and Whoopi during Jeanine’s appearance on the show last year. “It just depends on what the day is.”
