Dancing on Ice: Skater Yebin Mok injured in ‘freak accident’
Dancing on Ice will be making its highly anticipated return to ITV this evening at 6pm. Another set of celebrities will be taking to the ice in the hopes of impressing the judges. However, drama has already rocked the show prior to the first episode after one of the professionals was forced to pull out – but what happened to Yebin Mok?
What happened to Dancing on Ice star Yebin Mok?
ITV announced this week Yebin Mok will be sitting out of the show for a couple of weeks after sustaining a nasty injury.
Mok was partnered with Olympic skier Graham Bell but during training, she ended up with a injury.
The “freak accident” saw Mok end up with a laceration in her leg, essentially a stab wound from an ice blade.
She received immediate medical attention and is resting up now, even posting about her injury on social media.

In a post on Instagram after the accident, Mok explained what had happened and admitted she was “gutted” to have left unable to skate on Dancing on Ice.
She wrote: “Graham and I had a freak accident during our practice on Monday where his blade went into my shin.
“Such unlucky timing but also counting my lucky stars as I cut through the muscles, and not nerves, bone, vessels or tendons! How I didn’t cut any of that they say is a miracle.”
The star is now recovering with rehab exercises and nutrient-dense foods to help the wound to heal.
She also said her leg was feeling “so much stronger” and remained positive.
Recently, Mok shared a shot from her hospital bed with her 5,000 followers, which read: “NHS appreciation post!!!
“Just massive thank you the staff of Watford hospital! Doctors, surgeons, nurses, scrub nurses, operating team, anesthetists, urgent care, recovery care.
“They were all so kind, so caring and looked after me so well on my overnight on Monday.

“They truly are heroes! So grateful for the care I received. And my leg is feeling so much better already thanks to them.”
Mok added: “Had a glimpse of what @drtom_onice and all of our dr. Family members and friends who works in NHS might go through in their day. And I’m just thankful & proud. You guys are simply amazing. We citizens are lucky to have you.”
The skater was a new addition to the Dancing on Ice professionals line-up this year and is a co-founder of the Ice Theatre.
She is married to last year’s professional skater Tom Naylor, who is also a doctor and an orthopaedic surgeon.
Celebrity skater Bell will now be partnered up with former Team USA figure skater Karina Manta.
The pair will be performing in the second show, swapping places with comedian Rufus Hound and his skating partner Robin Johnstone.
Mok joked she would be watching Bell and Manta from the side of the rink like a “nervous mom” and “multiple devices to vote for them”.
Reflecting on her recovery, she said: “I’ll do my very best to heal and recover as quickly as I can with our physio, Sharon who is the best of the best, and if anyone can get me on the ice, it’s her!
“And I’ll be ready to skate with Graham if the fate allows it, so keep voting for him and here’s to hoping for the best on this unexpected bumpy road [sic].”
